Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Love
The 15th annual boutique music festival, Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Love, takes place at El Cosmico—Bunkhouse group’s communal / nomadic campground in Marfa where guests sleep in vintage trailers, teepees, safari tents, and yurts—from Sept. 22 to Sept 26. This year, the line-up includes headliners Ben Kweller, Courtney Barnett (solo), and Sleater-Kinney, while additional acts include a diverse group of musicians and bands, including Rickie Lee Jones, Jade Bird, Meshell Ndegeocello, Caroline Rose, Ben Kweller, El Cosmico Family Band with Robert Ellis and Friends and more. Just like Marfa itself, Trans-Pecos is an intimate festival, with a bit of a cosmic touch — Burning Man vibes in the West Texas desert of Marfa. The Trans-Pecos Festival goes beyond music, offering festival-goers the chance to camp in one of the most magical venues in the West Texas desert, while cultivating artistic engagement with a variety of unique activities, day parties, workshops, a vendor marketplace, pop-up desert spa, food trucks, art installations, and more. An extra day has been added and capacity has been drastically reduced for Covid-19 safety this year. Masks and social distancing will be required of all guests and vaccines are strongly recommended.
