After 116 years of fun, celebration, and excitement, Arizona State Fair will have a new location in 2021. With the 2020 Fari canceled due to Covid-19, we are all so excited to have our biggest celebration back this year.
However, this doesn’t mean we are no longer under the virus’s threat. Therefore, there are a few things you need to know regarding the 2021 Fair. If you decide to go, stay safe, be smart, and have a good time.

The New Location
Traditionally, the fair has always been at the fairgrounds at 19th & McDowell in Phoenix. However, the previous fairground has raised concerns regarding the spread of Covid-19. Therefore, the board decided to move the fair to somewhere larger and safer so visitors can enjoy themselves while maintaining the necessary physical distance.
After careful consideration, the new fairground is now the Wild Horse Pass on the Gila River Reservation near Chandler, AZ.
Tentative Dates
Right now, you will notice the fair is still scheduled to happen in the month of October. However, according to Gov. Ducey, the board has not finalized the event date. Therefore, it is still possible to postpone the fair based on how the reopening phase goes.
In other words, for those of us who want to have fun at the fair this year, we really need to do a job keeping the case numbers down and staying vigilant.
Stay Tuned
There are still many uncertainties with this year’s Arizona State Fair. However, there is one thing for sure: it’s been too long since we last had deep-fried Oreos, funnel cake, and all the other goodies!
However, we wouldn’t recommend you to start planning your fair trip this early in the year. While the state-wide mask mandate and other covid restrictions have been lifted, it doesn’t mean we are 100% safe.
The best way to make sure we can have a fun state fair later in the year is to keep following CDC guidelines for social distancing and face covering. Let’s keep each other safe so we can all have fun.
