Pizzeria Bianco has become a much-loved mainstay in the Neapolitan pizza scape of Phoenix. Chef and owner Chris Bianco has made a name for himself putting together some mouthwatering, yet simple, combinations for pie lovers everywhere in the Valley. Whether you’re a lover of something classic or want to try something totally new, there’s a pizzetta waiting for you at Pizzeria Bianco! Please take note: All the pies at Bianco are worth trying, and we only have our own opinions on which ones taste best. Feel free to taste them all for yourself if you like, and see where your own rankings land!
#1 Wiseguy
Complete with house-smoked mozzarella, this pie gets the benefit of being the first choice on the menu, hands down. Its wood-roasted onions leave a brothy flavor that is complemented perfectly by the sweetness of a true Italian sausage — you know, the ones made with fennel. This combination goes down as something that will satisfy your taste buds as well as your stomach. You won’t be left hungry after eating something so rich and flavorful!
#2 Margherita
Classics can be the best things in life: everyone loves a classic movie like Casablanca, and everyone loves classic foods, such as the Pizza Margherita. Bianco’s Margherita features the expected three ingredients we’ve come to expect: sweet tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and a touch of basil here and there. What comes from this is one of the simplest and most iconic experiences in the world of pizza — yet this one proves that not all classics are made the same. It truly stands out!
#3 Rosa
Something fresh and different comes your way every now and then, and one of those is the Rosa. Pizzeria Bianco proudly serves a pie covered in Parmigiano Reggiano and thinly sliced red onions, as well as tiny pieces of Arizona pistachio and rosemary to finish off the flavor. This results in an aromatic piece of pizza, where the cooked onions and the cheese pair off with the almost fruity sweetness that pistachios bring to the table. Don’t be afraid to experiment — and if you do, try the Rosa.
#4 Biancoverde
If you’re under the impression a pizza shouldn’t have greens, you have yet to try the Biancoverde. This three-cheese pie is topped with heapings of arugula to add a peppery flourish to the otherwise versatile combination of ricotta, Parmigiano Reggiano, and fresh mozzarella.
#5 Marinara
Believe it or not, one of the most impressive pizzas in the Valley has no cheese at all. Try the Marinara, where Bianco showcases how important the sauce of a pie really is. With tomato sauce, this pizza sports oregano and garlic as the toppings — earning it a powerful flavor that isn’t changed heavily by the presence of rich cheeses.
#6 Sonny Boy
Another way to deliver something classic: Meat and olives make their way onto the table if you order the Sonny Boy. Amid fresh mozzarella and their mouthwatering tomato sauce, this pizza comes with salami and Gaeta olives to deliver a familiar taste that many pizza lovers know and love.
