Javelina Canyon Trailhead

One of a few running trails in Phoenix found by visiting the Beverly Canyon Trailhead, this popular running spot is also a hit for mountain bikers, and with its scenery and a spot for great selfies at the peak of the hike, there’s no reason not to try your hand (or your feet, as it were) at the Javelina Canyon Trail!
Corona de Loma Trail

Rated as a more moderate-to-difficult trail, at 1.6 miles long Corona de Loma is a bit rough and sometimes steep (the elevation’s total change throughout is over 800 feet!). However, it proves totally rewarding for any seasoned runner. Check it out if you’re a proven runner with a need to challenge yourself!
Papago Park

Interlaced with generally easy running trails for joggers, walkers, and runners alike, Papago Park in Phoenix is filled with smooth footing and minimal elevation changes. Home to the Phoenix Zoo and the Desert Botanical Garden, the park is ideal for a scenic run like no other! Plus, Papago Park also has one of the coolest views in Phoenix with its famous hole in the rock. So, if you get worn out after your run, take a middle break at the hole before heading back. South Mountain Park and Preserve

Taking the name of the regional park where the trailhead starts, South Mountain Park/Preserve is one of the more difficult trails at 2.9 miles, which starts out easy and flat. You’ll find yourself running hills in no time, though, and make your sweat worth it if you’re looking to empower yourself!
Ridgeline Trail

Another running trail off the Beverly Canyon Trail that’s popular with runners, Ridgeline gives you a taste of elevation change (about 240 feet) without making it too difficult — just bring your water, wear your best shoes, and enjoy the views after a sweat or two.
