Santa Cruz River Disc Golf Course

Santa Cruz River Park, Tucson, AZ 85745

It just makes sense, doesn’t it? A riverfront spot featuring views of wildlife as well as hiking and biking trails, made complete by a picturesque desert course for your favorite frisbee-based sport? We thought so. Santa Cruz River Park is perfect for anyone wanting to exercise, feel a little freedom, and even go disc-tossing. After all, it’s one of the first frisbee golf courses in the nation!

Rillito River Park Disc Golf Course

Rillito River Park, Tucson, AZ 85705

With a little native vegetation, this open frisbee golf spot sports three tees per hole, marked with bricks so you know where you need to be — and as long as the sun’s out, this course is perfect for slinging and trying to make a few holes. There are no lights for after-dark tossing, but the baskets and tees on this course are numbered to make it easy on anyone finishing up their game at dusk.

Groves Park

7400 E Juniper Dr, Tucson, AZ 85730

This city park is known as a very lovely spot for disc golf, grassy, and spotted with mature trees for great shade when you need it. All 9 holes are under 300 feet in length, and if you want to start playing backward, you can turn Groves Park into an 18-hole course!

Sears (Loma Verde) Disc Golf Course

6051 E 14th St, Tucson, AZ 85711

This nine-hole course sports grassy tees on both ends of each hole, making for a total of 18 if you’re looking to play a full game of disc golf. Loma Verde also makes for a mixed landscape, with plenty of trees and open space alike. When you need a spot to hone your frisbee skills, there’s nothing like a mixed space with trees and open areas to test yourself!

Sam Lena Recreation Area

3400 S Country Club Rd, Tucson, AZ 85713

The various barbecue ramadas, the basketball court, a children’s playground, and more all make Sam Lena Park a place worth being, but if you’re into disc golf, you’ll find yourself enjoying it all the more. This basket-based course allows for a bit more freedom with unmarked tee spots, as well as lights that come on and keep the place running for those who like to play at night. There’s also a bit of challenge that comes from having an eight-foot fence bordering the two basketball courts, so come prepared!
