Can’t wait to watch your favorite Arizona team put the beatdown on the Trojans? If you’re ready for that entertainment, there are a few options you can explore to be a part of. Whether the food is important to you, or whether it’s the level of cheering you get with your fellow sports fanatics, you need to pick a bar that will serve your game-watching habits best. We found four different and well-chosen spots for game day that can really be the perfect bars to watch U of A play this weekend!
Frog & Firkin
874 E University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85719
Focused on imports and craft beers, this pub is a hit with anyone who loves a pint on a Saturday. Found on University, Frog & Firkin also sports eye-catching and mouthwatering bites, like their pesto-and-brie-covered fries (known as Green Fries) and their half-pounder, the “South of the Firkin Burger.” This tavern is also no stranger to game days, either. In fact, it gets a little busy here on game days especially, so it’s a perfect place for fans who do a lot of hootin’ and hollerin’. Just be sure to get here early so you can get yourself a spot before all the action starts.
Barrio Brewing Co
800 E 16th St, Tucson, AZ 85719
This well-known brewery doubles as a pub, with happy hour specials that will hit the spot without question. Up to 12 house beers will be on tap at any time here, and you can also play some shuffleboard if you’re not parked to watch the game just yet. The rustic-chic vibe of this spot makes you feel right at home, and the beer selection includes a wide range of flavors from their Citrazona IPA to the Mocha Java Stout and their fall seasonal brew, Viva Vienna Lager. If you’re the thirsty type during a game, a place like Barrio Brewing Co really is the way to go.
Mulligans
9403 E Golf Links Rd, Tucson, AZ 85730
The American bar staples you’ve come to expect are all here at Mulligans: Reuben sandwiches, loaded fries, and burgers galore among others. However, the menu item that reigns supreme is the variety of wings available at Mulligans, featuring sauces like Buffalo, Al Pastor, and Ghostface Killah — alongside dry rubs like the classic Salt and Vinegar. The low-key vibe here also sports pool tables and of course, TV sets for the game. There are plenty of ways to eat yourself into a food coma before the game here at Mulligans — but maybe there’s a beer or cocktail that will kick you awake!
Midtown Tavern
3620 N 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719
Pima County’s only sports betting bar is quite the relaxed hangout, but you can still expect to enjoy your game here as you eat in front of the TVs. Otherwise, you could play darts and billiards while tuning in every so often. Whatever your style of sports viewing, you can take it all in the relaxed, Midtown way here. Take it easy and enjoy the pastime as you sit back and unwind this Saturday! This is one of our favorite bars to watch U of A play.
