About Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area
Although the Rio Salado trail runs through many Urban Villages in Phoenix, some of the trailheads are located in South Phoenix. The trail and restoration area is a beautiful escape into nature where you can spot hikers, cyclers, a variety of birds, and other small critters. There are a total of six trailheads in the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area to choose from ranging from easy to moderate. Many of the paths are now paved making it easily accessible. The trails truly provide an escape from the city as you’ll feel transported by the greenery, water, and wildlife – especially during the winter season.
