About Grand Canyon University
Grand Canyon University, the largest Christian university in the world with close to 100,000 students both online and on-campus, is located in Alhambra near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road. The university offers a wide range of programs throughout its nine colleges. However, it’s not just the education that makes GCU a popular Phoenix destination. Sports are an integral part of the campus and the Lopes men’s basketball team is a local favorite. In the past few years, the men’s basketball team has risen to division one status in the Western Athletic Conference with the assistance of NBA All-Star and head coach Dan Majerle. The Lopes pack the GCU stadium on game night with attendance over 7,000. The university also hosts a spring film festival yearly with genres such as documentaries, comedy, and animation. GCU brings the community together with its many cultural and athletic activities.
