Central City is what people think of when they picture downtown Phoenix. It also includes Phoenix’s major airport, Sky Harbor. Many buildings in Central City ecnompass the history of Phoenix and are therefore protected as historic landmarks. Central City includes some of the most prominent sports venues in the city including Talking Stick Resort Arena and Chase Field. It is by far the most urban feeling area in the Phoenix metro area, and is growing rapidly with new apartment complexes, bars, and restaurants. Central City is accessible by the light rail and bus, and has many shareable bike and scooter locations.
