New information has come to light about the dissolution of the marriage between Kimora Lee Simmons and Tim Leissner. The ex-Goldman Sachs banker officially filed for divorce on April 20 while he was imprisoned in a federal prison for his involvement in the Malaysian embezzlement scandal. Although he married the Baby Phat founder in 2014, Leissner signed the initial divorce papers in February, only forty-eight hours before he was down to the Pennsylvania correctional facility.

Giving the reasons irreconcilable differences, the 56-year-old is demanding joint legal and physical custody of the son, Wolfe, who is 11 years old. Also, Leissner’s submission contains an application to Simmons for alimony and a request that she pay his legal expenses. He has also asked the court to terminate Simmons’ right to receive alimony from him as they proceed with divorce after 12 years of marriage.

Tim Leissner has shared a list of potential asset divisions as part of his divorce case with Kimora Lee Simmons. According to court documents, he asked to keep all earnings, property, and assets bought before their marriage, as well as those received via gifts, inheritance, or personal ownership, like jewelry and other belongings. He further stated that there could be more separate assets and liabilities that have not been fully identified yet.

Although E! News contacted Lee Simmons for a comment, she hasn’t replied yet. Still, the businesswoman once indirectly acknowledged the divorce by making a reference to her personal life in a December interview, including mentioning previous relationships.
