Most days Leonardo DiCaprio shows up, yet this time nothing much spotted – just once, says the Mirror, during a quiet afternoon at the famed Hotel Martinez
He may be one of the most recognisable actors in the world but Leonardo DiCaprio has largely evaded detection during his reported sojourn at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The One Battle After Another star, 51, a regular at the French festival, often stays on luxury chartered superyachts anchored in the Bay of Cannes to maintain a low profile, or high-end suites at elite locations such as the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
Out of sight while the festival winds down, he’s vanished so completely that even those scanning every moment missed him entirely. Usually quick to blend into glamorous Riviera scenes – though sometimes caught off guard under bright lights – he’s pulled off something new this time. Not a glimpse, not a trace, just silence where sightings once piled up.

Leonardo DiCaprio Spotted in a Secret Red-Lit Speakeasy
Still, he spent a quiet afternoon lately at The Hotel Martinez, a well–known spot for stars – also central to HBO’s upcoming White Lotus season. That place? A main setting for the show’s next chapter. A bartender at its bar – which had a big makeover last year and is now in the style of a high-end, red-lit, speakeasy – shared his encounter with the Mirror on Tuesday, adding that Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez’ was currently staying at the exclusive hotel.
“Leo keeps a very, very low profile when he’s here”, they told us. “He’s a massive star and understandably, very private. He just doesn’t want to be mobbed when he’s out for a drink or two. But I did rustle up some cocktails for him here in the bar a few days ago.”
Over in one spot, he sat beside two stunning women. Talking closely, their chat flowed while sipping drinks. A good moment unfolded, obvious in his ease and laughter.
Most folks might think he keeps to himself, yet his presence still fills the room. Meeting him more than once gave me that impression. He avoids attention on purpose, though never fades into silence.
The Classic Leonardo DiCaprio Disguise Kit and Upcoming Buzz
Famed for going to extreme lengths to stay off the radar when he’s attending high-profile events, DiCaprio, who has been dating Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti since 2023, has been spotted in various versions of the baseball cap, hoodie and sunglasses ensemble in an effort to evade the paps.
He chooses his public appearances wisely – and a source told the Mirror that he is rumoured to be one of the A-listers attending an event on Wednesday night hosted by Time magazine, called Bee Wise” Bring the Bees Back.
One thing fits clear: it lines up with how much he cares about Earth. Born in Los Angeles, the actor earned seven Oscar nods, claiming a win in 2016 after dragging through snow and pain for The Revenant. Years have passed since he began raising his voice about nature in Hollywood. Over time, one thing became clear: his actions matched his words. More than a hundred million dollars found its way into efforts fighting climate change. Protecting animals and their homes took shape through those funds. A different kind of star emerged – not just seen on screen, but noticed for what he backed off it.
Leonardo DiCaprio Faces the Freeze in a Harsh Survival Tale
Midway through spring, filming began in the Czech Republic with DiCaprio stepping onto set under Scorsese’s direction yet again. Titled What Happens at Night, the movie shares its screen space with Jennifer Lawrence standing next to him. Not quite calm, the story pulls people along – centered on an American couple bound together by marriage. They travel toward a stretch of Europe blanketed in snow, silence heavy around them. Why are they making this journey? A child arrives through adoption, carried into a new life. Frost coats the edges of every scene, while silence hums beneath it all – Apple standing behind its first telling.
