The 51-year-old star of Ted Lasso further talked about her love life in her cover story with Women’s Health UK and said that she is again dating after eight years.
While she was laughing, Hannah referred to her new boyfriend as “very good looking” and “really lovely.”
Hannah was a single mother after their separation and that happened when their daughter was only two-years-old after which she said that girl’s upbringing has been her first priority. They raised their daughter together until she was 11 years old.
According to Hannah, she has taken her time for eight years. She said, “I didn’t really have the space mentally or emotionally for that.”

Hannah Waddingham Talks New Love and Returning to Strength as a Single Mum
TV star Hannah Waddingham recently went further about a new relationship she is involved in, revealing that her happiness centers on feeling confident enough within herself.
“And of course, my relationship is really lovely too, but best of all, it’s being happy and strong within myself, ” she told.
The actress portraying Rebecca Welton in Ted Lasso has refused to confirm publicly the identity of her new beau, although she attracted rumors earlier this year when she accompanied to Cheltenham Festival a spine surgeon Nick Beresford-Cleary. Beresford-Cleary is a consultant spine surgeon working in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and King Edward VII Hospital, and prior to medicine has studied mechanical engineering at Edinburgh University.
Hannah has shared that she was forced to take on the role of a single mother after her long-term relationship ended when her daughter was still a baby, and revealed that the experience of becoming a lone parent only spurred her on to re-energize her life and career.
“Then, a woman could lose her job because she is left holding the baby, ” she said. “[But] in fact, I found a strength deep inside me. I decided, ‘I will not sit in the corner with a duvet over my head and think, oh, poor me’. I will go out and fight because I know I have so much that I can offer in my career…”
Hannah Waddingham has been very open about how being a single mother is often misunderstood, and one of the ways she puts it is by talking about raising a daughter.
“I discuss [single motherhood] quite frequently because it is not the same as two parents, ” she commented. “I realize that this sounds silly and obvious, however, I think people forget about it. People imply, ‘Oh, I am alone most of the time.’ But that is not the same as being the only breadwinner. Through that, she has become my biggest accomplishment.”
Besides this, the actress shared her shock about a time when her daughter Kitty, who was three years old back then, had a sudden change for the worse and was taken to hospital and after undergoing tests was found to suffer from a rare autoimmune illness called Henoch-Schönlein purpura.
Waddingham says that the diagnosis changed her life as she decided to stop taking on major film projects that involved travelling very far from home as she concentrated on her daughter’s healing.
She says at this time she practically “manifested” her Ted Lasso role by asking for a job which would be creatively challenging but at the same time would allow her to be near her home in London. Only two months later, she went to her first meeting for the role of Rebecca, the show that they ended up filming almost in her backyard.
