The Kardashians star Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker recently welcomed their son, Rocky Thirteen Barker on November 1, 2023. While the Kardashian family matriarch, Kris Jenner, was already aware of her daughter’s pregnancy, something caught her off guard. Back in June 2023, during a Blink-182 concert, Kourtney revealed to the world that she was pregnant. Kris Jenner Thought She Was Being Punked
During the concert where Travis Barker was performing, the Lemme owner shocked the public and her mother with the announcement. She held a large sign up in the air that said, “Travis, I’m Pregnant.”
This public revelation was telecasted on news networks and fans rushed to Instagram to congratulate her. However, in an episode of The Kardashians, the momager revealed that she got to know about this big reveal from the news itself. While she expected her daughter to share the news of this announcement with her personally, Kourtney never did.
In the latest episode, Khloe explained about her mother, “She wasn’t very happy, rightfully so.”
Kris too reacted to the announcement and said, “I opened up my eyes and right in front of me- because we had left the TV on the night before- and woke up really early in the morning to see Kourtney holding a sign and I thought I was being punked.”
She further explained, “I’m like, ‘Did somebody put this up?’ Then I realized it was ABC News. I knew she was pregnant. I just didn’t know she was going to announce it.”
Khloe also added that her mother felt hurt due to Kourtney’s surprising move. She also recalled her sister’s response adding that she said that she simply forgot to inform her mother about the plan. While the move did hurt her, Kris Jenner responded calming saying that her daughter Kourtney simply forgot she also has a family. She discounted the move to her daughter’s pregnancy stating that the pregnancy brain can be wild.
Kourtney Admits The Announcement Was About Her And Travis
According to Kourtney, her big revelation at the concert was destined to be which is why she stuck with her plan. The mother of seven, including 3 from Travis Barker’s previous marriage, added that it was their way of informing the world about the blessing.
“It was about me and Travis, not about anything else,” she concluded.
Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker share seven children with six from their previous relationships. Kourtney mothered three children with her ex Scott Disick which include Mason, Reign, and Penelope. On the other hand, Travis shares his three children with his ex Shanna Moakler. The eldest is Landon, followed by Alabama and Atiana De La Hoya.
With their new blessing now a month old, the family is the happiest they can ever be. However, the road to this successful birth wasn’t without any hurdles. In the past, Kourtney has been very vocal about her struggles with IVF and how it has changed her a lot.
