On December 6, the former young Sheldon star saw Zoe Perry who plays mother Mary Cooper in the television show during a visit to the White House. Later, December 30, Armitage went to see his Big Little Lies on-screen mother, Shailene Woodley.

“Yesterday, I met my very first fake mother, @shailenewoodley in a play on Broadway!” Armitage wrote on Instagram. “The name of the play is Cult of Love and it is staging at @2stnyc.”
Besides that, the actor was thinking about how gracious Woodley was when he first got on the set of Big Little Lies since he was only a 7-year-old boy.
“At the age of 7, I was lucky enough to get the role of a cast member in Big Little Lies, ” he wrote. “Before our journey to Los Angeles for filming, I did a FaceTime call with Shailene and I questioned her about the upcoming experience. Shailene reassured me that the time would be very enjoyable, ‘like playing’, and indeed, it turned out exactly as she said.”

He said the fun they had on set was the main reason he didn’t walk away from it. Since Young Sheldon ended, he hasn’t taken on another major TV role, but he did pop up for a guest spot on CBS’s Ghosts in 2026. According to the official episode synopsis, Armitage simply appeared as a showy version of himself at a “high-stakes poker game” held in the mansion.

Armitage who plays Ziggy has indicated his readiness to return to the character. During a May 2024 live chat show LIVE with Kelly and Mark, the teen celebrity disclosed that he “would feel very honored” if he got the role of Ziggy again.
