Edwards claimed that Cher contacted her last year to confirm the story after hearing about Ever during Allman’s overdose in 2021. Edwards mentioned that Cher was “speechless” and later told her family, “Oh my God, I’m finally a grandma.” Edwards also stated that Allman was aware of the child from the beginning, but was not a present parent, only checking in occasionally over the years.
