Some of the best films ever made have been set around casinos. However, many people may have missed some of these amazing films. With older films easily accessible on the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime, here is a great list if you are interested in the casino life.
So to save the hassle of finding these films by chance, much like searching for a new online casino, here is a definitive list of the best ones.
- Casino, 1995
Arguably the best ever with a cast that could rival any cast ever. A Martin Scorsese classic film which is up there with the likes of Wolf of Wall Street and Goodfellas, the film features Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone.
Based on a true story and Scorsese looked for authenticity by shooting in real Las Vegas casinos with real-life gamblers in the background.
A truly gripping mob-style film and one that should be first on your watch list if you have not seen it before.
- Casino Royale, 2006
The first James Bond appearance for Daniel Craig and one that really set the tone for his excellent portrayal of 007.
Bond has to play in a high-stakes poker game to figure out the plans of the evil villain and it puts him close to death being at the table. Filmed mainly in Montenegro, this is not the traditional place where a casino film is filmed.
- Hangover, 2009
A change of pace with this one. A comedy that flipped the comedy genre on its head with the comedy focused around piecing the night together rather than focused on the night itself.
Set in the home of casinos, Las Vegas, where the gang have a bachelor party but it all goes wrong. One of the best scenes is when Alan has been reading up on how to “take down” the casinos and he is able to win a lot of the money back that they need.
A truly great comedy and it has some excellent references to casinos particularly when Alan asked if it was the real Ceaser’s Palace. Watch your favourite casino movie on fmovies for free.
- Ocean’s Eleven, 2001
A remake of the famous film starring Frank Sinatra rivals Casino for a cast list. George Clooney and Brad Pitt lead a crew consisting of Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, Elliott Gould, Scott Caan, Casey Affleck, Eddie Jemison, Don Cheadle, Carl Reiner, and Shaobo Qin as they plan on robbing three casinos at once.
Some fantastic shots of casinos will get your blood pumping as this action movie is on the go constantly; much like being in an actual casino.
- Rain Man, 1988
Starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, the classic film features the legendary Caesars Palace and was one of the first films to be shot inside an actual casino. Hoffman, playing an autistic person, is kidnapped by his brother played by Cruise to give up half of his inheritance.
However, he manipulates him into playing blackjack and counting cards. At Caesars Palace, the pair makeover 86 thousand dollars.
