Britney Spears Arrested in Ventura County on DUI Charges
Britney Spears is said to have been arrested by police for the suspicion of driving under influence, Page Six revealed. The 44-year-old singer who gained popularity with the hit “Oops! I Did It Again” was reportedly stopped by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County around 9:28 p.m. local time.
According to the inmate records of the Ventura County Sheriff’s office, the singer was booked at 3:02 a.m. and released at 6:07 a.m. TMZ was the first to break the story.
Spears will be in front of the judge on May 4.

Britney Spears closed down her Instagram account after being arrested for a DUI. Her representative, Cade Hudson, described the incident as “unfortunate” and “totally inexcusable.” He added, “Britney is willing to do the right things and comply with the law, and maybe this could be the first step towards the long overdue change that Britney’s life needs. Hopefully, she will be able to get the help and support that she requires during this difficult time.”
He further disclosed about Spears’ children, Sean Preston and Jayden James: “Her boys will indeed be with her.” The people who love her are going to come up with a plan for setting up her success and well-being that she has so long been overdue.”
This arrest comes months after Spears was captured on camera driving very dangerously after a night out. In October 2025, Daily Mail got hold of the video footage showing the singer leaving the Thousand Oaks restaurant Red-O and getting into her black BMW even when several people were trying to stop her.
Eyewitness Says Britney Spears Almost Ran Over Friend While Driving
According to a witness who spoke to the Daily Mail, Britney Spears “almost ran over her friend when she was backing out” of a parking lot during the incident that took place last October.
The singer was allegedly seen swerving between lanes, tailgating, and even driving in a bike lane on her way to her Thousand Oaks home.
Once the video went viral, Spears took to her social media to deny that she was the one driving and further stated that the person behind the wheel was a “lookalike”.
The restaurant manager where Spears had been eating also came to her defense and said that they should not believe She had been drinking had led to her reckless driving.
