Celebration of Life
William was a treasured part of Brevard County for many years. On April 21st, 2024, William Clinton Passed away. His final days were spent at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida. There, caring nurses provided him comfort and attention. William was one of the community’s finest gentlemen.
Early Life and Family Background
Bill was born on September 5 1947 out in Alamance County, North Carolina. His parents, Max and Laverne Howell Sharpe, both predeceased him. From these humble beginnings, Bill’s journey led him far beyond the borders of his home state.
Bill is survived by Donna Lynn Sharpe, his soul mate for 56 long years. They made a life together of love and commitment. Together they blessed the world with two daughters, Lisa (married to Mark Canada) and Stacy Sharpe. And it expands further still into their grandchildren: Tyler, Jessie, Clinton (married to Kendall), Cory (married to Dahlymar), and Lauren (married to Sean Pittman). His joy was compounded when he welcomed even more great-grandchildren, including Amira, Eliana, Stella and Jaylen Pittman, Jordan, E.J. McClain, Reina and Bryson.
In addition to his immediate family, Bill also leaves behind sister-in-law Sandy Sharpe, nephew Jr. (married to Cathy) Sharpe, who is married to Everette, of nieces Cassi Ross, Teresa (married with children) Deem and Cynthia (married with children) Sharpe. His life was also saddened by death when he lost his grandson Jasen Sharpe, as well as his brothers Max and Everette, and his sister-in-law Barbara.
Career and Contributions
Bill spent his formative years in North Carolina, but as a boy teenager, he moved down to Florida to begin another chapter. That is where he met and married Donna in 1968. A professional life was the car trade; he started out being an automotive painter on McCotter Ford and Beach Auto Body. With a spirit of entrepreneurship, Bill started his own business, Sharpe’s Body Shop, in 1976 which he managed until his retirement.
Bill Sharpe lived on relationship–a love of family and lifelong commitment to his chosen craft. With his passing, those who knew him have been left as shadows of themselves; yet his influence lives on through work, family, innumerable memories cherished by everyone.
Bill’s Hobbies and Fun Times
William “Bill” Clinton Sharpe was a well-liked person in his town. He found happiness and relaxation in outdoor activities. His hobbies and interests were a big part of his life. They gave his family and friends many happy memories. Bill loved fishing and hunting. These activities brought him close to nature. He really enjoyed boating and riding motorcycles. He felt free and excited doing these. His family vacations were often in the Florida Keys. There, he went scuba diving and fishing. He made lasting memories with his loved ones. Bill also drove to Georgia for deer hunting trips. He went with his best friends and family. Being in the wilderness together made their bonds stronger.
Although William Clinton Passed Away His warm personality and eagerness help made him a dear friend. He was valued in his community. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Memorial Events and Celebrating Bill’s Life
Family and friends can pay their respects and remember Bill’s life. Visitation is from 1:30 pm until his memorial service at 3 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024. It is at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 2 pm until 7 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024. It is at the Captain’s House, 1300 Bianca Drive, NE, Palm Bay, Florida. At this event, people can share stories, laugh, and cry. They will remember Bill and how he impacted so many lives.
