Dakota Johnson, the 50 Shades Of Grey actress, recently shared a weird secret about her sleep routine. The 34-year-old revealed how sleep is the first priority in her busy life. In conversation with WSJ for its series, My Monday Mornings, she revealed her normal routine involves at least 10 hours of sleep. However, she also added that if given a chance, she can sleep as long as 14 hours.
Dakota Johnson Admits She Is Non-Functional With Less Sleep
The BAFTA nominee further explained, “I’m not functional if I get less than 10. I can easily go 14 hours. I don’t have a regular wake-up time. It depends on what’s happening in my life. If I’m not working, if I have a day off on a Monday, then I will sleep as long as I can. Sleep is my No. 1 priority in life.”
Providing some additional details, the actress revealed that her post-rest schedule doesn’t involve breakfast. Rather, she skips it and goes straight for coffee to jump out of her sleep cycle. For her coffee, she prefers the flat white version of oat milk.
She also added, “I will get in a bathtub at any moment, any time of the day. If in the middle of the day, I’m like, ‘Oh God, what is this world?’ I’ll get in the bathtub. I find water really grounding.”
For the unversed, Dakota Johnson is the daughter of popular actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Talking about her parents, Johnson revealed that she is inspired massively by her parents and their screen presence. She added that she was especially charmed and inspired by their confidence as actors.
Dakota Reveals Her Mother Is A Bit Mysterious
Describing her mother she said, “My mom is such a specific person. She’s so different to watch on screen- she’s got this real sparkle in her eyes. You’re like, ‘What is she thinking?’ I’ve always appreciated that she doesn’t give it all away. So maybe that- a little bit of mystery.”
Dakota’s latest appearance was in the documentary, The Disappearance Of Shere Hite which was released back in November 2023. The actress serves as the narrator of the documentary and shares details from the life of Hite. Back in 1970, Hite received major backlash for her controversial book named, “The Hite Report” which featured a lot of her feminist views as a sex educator.
The actress praised Hite and her futuristic views for the 70s era stating that she was eloquent and hyper-intelligent. Moreover, she provided quantifiable data regarding female orgasm and sexuality that is very relevant today. However, her intelligent insights didn’t reach the right audience.
“Most interesting and also maybe the most alarming is just how we’re still fighting to talk about sexual wellness,” she added.
