Friendship is one of the strongest relationships any of us will experience in our life, and songs about friendship are a great way to share them. Although some friendships come and go, the bond, warmth, and laughter you share with a friend is something we can all relate to.
It is too difficult to give a ranking to these 10 songs, so they are not in any particular order. Our list of the best songs about friends span decades and genres but have the common thread of friendship throughout.
A few quick notes on some of our picks. As many of us know, “I’ll Be There for You” was popularized by the show Friends (which, if you haven’t watched the Friends Reunion recently released, stop what you’re doing and go watch now). It often brings us back to the mid-2000s (as does “You’ve Got a Friend in Me) and our friendships throughout junior high and high school, but the lyrics in each song still ring true to any friendship today.
We also incorporated some newer songs about friendship including Saweetie & Doja Cat’s “Best Friend,” which has made the rounds on TikTok, as well as some recent fan favorites such as “Good Old Days” by Mackelmore and Kesha.
No matter your genre preference, this playlist will hit on every feel good nerve you have. Give it a listen and check out our Spotify playlist.
