The 10 Best Taco Bell Menu Items, Ranked

If you look up ‘late-night guilty pleasure’ in the dictionary you’ll see a picture of a Taco Bell. I honestly don’t know if I have ever been to a Taco Bell drive-thru while the sun is still shining. But regardless of the time of day, Taco Bell has an extensive menu filled with great items and a bevy of combinations of similar ingredients all put together expertly and deliciously. There is not much diversity in the core ingredients of the Mexican fast food chain but the twists that Taco Bell adds simply hit every time.

So today we are going to look at the best 10 items across the Taco Bell Menu. I will be excluding breakfast items for now but maybe down the line, they will be revisited. Here are the 10 best things to get at Taco Bell.

  1. 10. Cinnamon Twists

These were always my favorite menu item as a kid, for obvious reasons of pure sugar. I do think that they are a solid side to get with every order as well. I have them starting out this list because they are just a basic side no matter how good they are. There are more complex and better options coming up.

  1. 9. Spicy Potato Soft Taco

This is an interesting one for sure. When you think of typical taco ingredients, potatoes are not on that list. All I saw is hear me out, it works, I mean why wouldn’t it work? Potatoes are great on just about everything they can be on and all of the ingredients of a taco mesh perfectly with potatoes. As well as the Chipotle sauce for an added kick this is definitely one to try out.

  1. 8. Chicken Quesadilla

A simple menu item but something you can never go wrong with. It is lower on the list because to me it is an add-on to a burrito or taco order. Quesadilla as a complimentary side is perfect. And the cheese one is simple enough that you can never go wrong with picking it. The slight crispiness of the tortilla and the melted cheese is perfect.

  1. 7. Mexican Pizza

A classic menu item that has only recently been brought back because it was so popular. It is a classic and easily my mom’s favorite from her childhood. It is a take on pizza with two pieces of crust, refried beans, seasoned beef in the center, and cheese and tomato as toppings. It is a combination of Mexican and Italian food to create a Mexican pizza.

  1. 6. Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos

I will always remember the time that Taco Bell and Doritos teamed up to create the Dorito taco shell. It always felt like a match made in heaven and was shocking that something like it didn’t happen sooner. The Nacho Cheese Doritos works perfectly with every aspect of the taco. I put the Supreme version on this list but the regular version world just as well.

  1. 5. Burrito Supreme

The Burrito Supreme has just about everything you expect to be on a burrito. Beef, cheese, lettuce, red sauce, refried beans, onions, tomatoes, and sour cream. All tightly wrapped in a tortilla. There is not much more you can ask for when wanting a Burrito to be honest. And again, I chose the Supreme because more is always better but the regular version will also fit perfectly in this spot.

  1. 4. Chalupa Supreme

What makes a Chalupa so special is the shell. A fried piece of flatbread that as the Taco Bell website says, “ mysteriously marries chewy and crispy; pure sorcery.” The shell really is the standout star in this combination. Most items here are comprised of similar ingredients, but when you add in an element that is so different and works so well then the item rises up on the list.

3. Beefy 5-Layer Burrito

Some would say this includes the best 5 layers to a Burrito. Beef, chees, sour cream, beans, and then a layer of Nacho Cheese. The way that it is concocted is a marvel in itself. The double layer of tortilla with Nacho cheese in between is a great touch and really. Because of that added twist, it deserves number 3 on this list.

  1. 2. Crunchwrap Supreme

An absolute Taco Bell classic, the main factor to its status as a menu item is its convenience. Getting all of these ingredients into a perfect compact hexagonal shape is amazing. The crunchy tostada shell is also an added bonus. You will never go wrong adding this as a menu item on your next trip to Taco Bell

  1. 1. Cheesy Gordita Crunch

The ultimate combo of crunch and taco. The hard shell wrapped in the soft flatbread is the best way to enjoy a taco. The added three-cheese blend as well just elevates this to the number 1 spot that I have it at. When it comes to any kind of food, the more cheese the better in my opinion.
