With this in mind, we’ve put together a list of some of the niftiest packing hacks to make the most of your space, as well as some top tips about what you’re most likely to need when planning for your June holidays.
Read on to find out more and be as prepared as possible!
Don’t fold – roll
You’ve probably heard of this packing hack, but not only does rolling your clothes save space, but it also helps to avoid creases and means you can keep outfits wrapped up together!
Be smart about what you bring
It might seem obvious, but as much as you’ll want to take all your favourite outfits on holiday, it’s important to only pack things that can be versatile – and are less likely to get creased! Make sure you can wear each thing multiple times, and with different items. Essentially – pack the staples!
Also, re-wear your evening clothes the next day rather than washing them straight away, or pack old T-shirts that you don’t mind getting dirty. This way you can make the most of the activities and days out on your holiday without worrying about ruining your favourite clothes.
Swap liquid toiletries for dry solid ones
Another great packing hack is to swap your toiletry bottles for dry, solid soaps. You can get shampoo bars which are more environmentally-friendly and save you space!
Top tip: Place a cotton pad inside the powder makeup to prevent breakage and spillage.
Compression bags
Using compression or vacuum bags is a great way to save up to half the space in your suitcase!
For a UK summer holiday, this is great because it means your ‘just-in-case’ jumpers won’t be taking up that precious room in the car or your bag.
Stuff your hats and shoes
To utilise every last bit of space you have, you could stuff the inside of your shoes and hats with clothes, socks, or underwear. By rolling the smaller items up and squeezing them into the gaps, you’ll have more room for your carefully-chosen outfits.
Pack raincoats and suncream
We all know the UK weather in June can be temperamental, so don’t forget to pack a raincoat as well as suncream, hat, and sunglasses. Chances are, you’ll want a jumper for the cooler June evenings, but it’s a great idea to think about what activities you’re planning and take swimming costumes, flip flops, beach towels, along with trainers and summer coats!
