Tom Holland Calls Zendaya His Wife for the First Time

Tom Holland has already dubbed Zendaya’s latest role. Nearly five months after confirming their marriage, the actor revealed he thought of his longtime Spider-Man co-star as his wife when mulling over who to take on a vacation to Greece.

“I think probably my wife would be pretty good,” Holland said while promoting a July 22 episode of The Dish podcast, adding that taking his “The Odyssey” costar Matt Damon would be “a bit strange if I went, `Sorry babe, I’m gonna take Matt actually.'”

Holland and Zendaya, who married in July 2021, have been quite secretive about their relationship. In addition to that, the “Cherry” star has been showering love on his wife through a series of warm jokes when the two of them were doing promotion for their film ‍‌‍‍‌recently.

During a joint interview with Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson about the upcoming release of their film “The Odyssey,” Holland was asked to compare the ancient Greek princess to Zendaya’s role in the film.

“When I saw the question, I thought `Wait, did Athena love Odysseus?’ and I thought no, because she’s married to me,” Holland joked in an interview with Wired published July 16.

Later in the conversation, Damon picked up on the idea while answering a question about what his character Telemachus learned from Athena. “True love,” replied the 55-year-old “Green Mile” star. “That’s what Tom’s character would’ve learned from Athena.”

Zendaya, for her part, has noted that her marriage to Holland may have played a small role in her landing the part in “The Odyssey.” “Tom had the script at home before I got the call,” Zendaya told E! News at the film’s New York premiere. “So, I did a little peeky peek.”

The 29-year-old actress and Holland have been equally secretive about the details of their own wedding. The star couple opened up about the event in separate interviews, with the “Spider-Man” actor revealing that the entire extended family was invited.

“All” of his close family and loved ones were present for the wedding, Holland confirmed in an interview with Esquire published last month. “That’s ‍ all you’ll get on that,” he added,

Zendaya, on the other hand, accepts that her romantic affair with Holland has become something quite open for the public eye, but at the same time, she does not give up on being able to keep her private life to herself.

” I try my best to be able to have things for myself and also for him, ” she, the former Disney artist, mentioned during the April 8th Modern Love podcast episode of the New York ‍ ‌Times.

“We do our best, in general, to not hide ourselves from the world but just to preserve things for ourselves so we can maintain that joy within ourselves and our loved ones and our family,” Zendaya added.

“That’s my broad way of just saying I hear it but also [setting] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and share,” the Oscar winner added.
