Tim Curry has started to speak about the health problems he still has.
After a stroke that occurred 12 years and 10 months ago, the 79-year-old actor has disclosed that he is still not able to walk. “I’m still not able to walk, and this is the dumb chair I have to sit in,” Curry explained to the crowd at a Sept. 26 special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrating the film’s 50th anniversary, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s very limiting.”

Coping With Lasting Effects

Tim Curry, the fantastic actor whose acting and singing in The Rocky Horror Picture Show has always been unrivaled, admitted that he will never get back his full movement range. “Most certainly not my singing and dancing shows will be anywhere near the future,” Curry jokingly said with a smile. “In addition to that, I continue to feel some pain in my left leg.” In 2012, Curry went through a stroke, an event that changed his life journey. When recalling the moment, The Clue star stated that he was very mixed up at the time but eventually he realized that he was suffering from a health crisis.

Reflecting on the Day It Happened

Tim Curry remembers the case of his stroke, in 2012, and also confesses he didn’t realize it at the time. “Actually, I was having a massage and I didn’t really notice anything,” he said. “However, the guy who was doing the massage said, ‘I am concerned about you, I want to call a doctor,’ and he did it without asking me. I said, ‘That’s so silly.'”
This is not the only instance that Curry has mentioned his recuperation. His agent made a public statement an year after the mishap, confirming that the actor had suffered a stroke but was “doing great,” thereby, sending a positive message to the fans.

Staying Positive and Celebrating Legacy

Back in 2013, Tim Curry’s spokesperson informed the public that Tim Curry was doing great during his recovery, was able to speak clearly, and was in a good mood. Currently, Curry, among other things, sings praises to his health and is thrilled to be part of the anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ a film in which, according to him, he shared the screen with Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Meat Loaf.
During the Sept. 26 celebration, he quipped, “I’m so excited about this and very honored by the Academy to make this presentation of our film, which has been going on for 50 years, the longest I’ve ever stayed away from the movies.”
