Dakota Mortensen Reacts to Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette Role
When it was made public that Taylor Frankie Paul would be the next Bachelorette, Dakota Mortensen, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, gave his full support to the former.
Mortensen, who with Paul has a 17-month-old daughter Ever, appears to be taking the news in a comedic way. He reacted to her news via his social media where he made a joke about her big dating update and also made a playful reference to his own.
In a very humorous video, Mortensen lip-synced to Lindsay Lohan’s satirical 2009 eHarmony audition, which he covered with the caption: “Is this the way it goes to be the next Bachelor?”
A Playful Post With a Clear Message
On Sept 11, Dakota shared a video on Instagram where he said, “Is this how it works to be the next Bachelor?” as he lip-synced to Lindsay Lohan’s viral 2009 fake eHarmony audition.
“Hi, my name is Lindsay and I’m looking for love,” he mouthed in the video. “I’m not quite sure if I’m newly single, but anyway, I’m searching for a person with whom I can share the rest of my life, or at least the rest of my probation. A bit of me: I’m a performer, a singer, an entrepreneur.”
Also, in the event that any fans considered his post as a jab at Taylor, Dakota, 32, took the time to explain that it was just for laughs—then he went on to send his heartfelt wishes to his ex.
A Supportive Note After the Announcement
“It’s a joke… everyone relax lol,” Dakota wrote as the caption of the post. “Nevertheless, I’m happy for Tay and I wish her the best in her life no matter what.”
His blunt reaction only came a day after he had shared a more ambiguous message, in response to the news that Taylor would be the new lead for season 22 of The Bachelorette.
In a pre-recorded Sept. 10 interview, Taylor confessed, “I don’t know if he knows or if he knew that I had the opportunity. So, he’ll find out Wednesday.”
The 31-year-old, however, added that while she thought Dakota might feel “sad” with the news, he was already aware that she had started dating other people as a result of their final breakup confirmation earlier this year.

“We already underwent that initial pain, I suppose,” Taylor considered her confessional, Sept. 10 (taped) before. She confessed being quite unsure if Dakota was aware about her The Bachelorette chance, and explained, “So, he’ll find out Wednesday.”
Moreover, the 31-year-old said that she felt that Dakota upon hearing the news might become “sad” only at first, however, he already comprehended that she had started seeing other people when they had their breakup confirmation earlier this year.
As for whether Dakota will watch her TV love-triangle, Taylor believes he might be. “I think that he is always watching up until now, as I say,” she commented. “And perhaps it requires him encountering someone else and concentrating on her, and then maybe it will be different. I am not able to say.”
