Steve Harvey: An Exemplary Father of Seven
Steve Harvey “Family Feud” host has always been a family-oriented man and he finds fatherhood to be his main inspiration. “Family is my reason why,” he disclosed once. “I want to leave a legacy and make the world a better place for them, at least that’s my hope.”
Steve’s fatherhood story started with the arrival of twin daughters, Brandi and Karli, 40 now, in 1982. They are his daughters with his first wife, Marcia Harvey. Along with the daughters, the couple had a son in 1991, Broderick Harvey Jr., 31 before the divorce in 1994.
The television personality had more children with his second wife Mary Shackelford (1996–2005), during their marriage they had a son Wynton, 28 in 1997. Steve being a father of 7 children in total, also has Morgan, Jason, and Lori amongst his offspring.
Steve Harvey’s Blended Family: Bringing up Seven Children
Steve Harvey got married to Marjorie Harvey in 2007 and they started a family by him adopting the three children his wife had from her previous relationship: daughters Morgan, 40, and Lori, 29, and son Jason, 31.
Marjorie told PEOPLE in 2016, “Each person in a blended family is basically broken in some way. We figured this was the right thing to do.” She went on to say that they keep on doing everything possible so all their kids feel that they are a part of the family and are loved. “So now we are Mom and Dad to everybody.”

Karli and Brandi Harvey: Steve Harvey’s Twin Daughters
Steve Harvey and his first wife Marcia, twins Karli and Brandi brought into the world in August 1982.
Steve was an insurance salesman when the twins were born. After stepping onto the stand-up comedy stage and bagging a $50 first-place prize, he decided to quit his job and become a full-time comedian. He told PEOPLE, looking back at that milestone moment, “I’m married, I have twins. I’m supposed to be the provider for them. But I just had to take this chance.”
After launching a successful career in the entertainment industry, the divorce changed his family life. Steve and Marcia separated in 1994, and subsequently, Steve’s relationship with Karli and Brandi grew distant.

Steve Harvey shared a touching moment about his daughters Karli and Brandi: “I remember it years later when they told me, ‘Dad, we didn’t understand at the time why you left us, but now we know you had to go. You are not just ours. You belong to the world.’ That really got me.”
Karli got married to Ben Raymond in 2015 and Steve was very happy to give her away. The couple came on Steve’s show before the wedding and he got emotional saying, “It’s hard to give your daughter away,” then he looked at Benjamin and said, “you’ve got to take care of her, because if you don’t, I’ll take that very personally.”
On June 16th, Karli and Benjamin brought into the world their first child, a son, Benjamin Troy Raymond II. They used a wedding gift for the nursery – a blessing tree which was covered with notes from family and friends.
Karli and Brandi Harvey: Family, Inspiration, and Success
Karli Harvey told PEOPLE in 2016 that the blessing tree in her son’s nursery was done to give him constant encouragement. They also framed one of Steve Harvey’s favorite Albert Einstein quotes and made sure their son had a copy of Steve’s book, Act Like a Success.
Karli’s twin sister, Brandi, is making a name for herself through her books, podcasts, and fitness influencing. She has a background of bodybuilding, having come in second at an NPC competition. Brandi also runs Beyond Her, a wellness and lifestyle brand that focuses on women reaching their health goals.
Besides her own projects, Brandi is the executive director of The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, which is a position that helps her father’s philanthropic work.
Broderick Harvey Jr.: Steve Harvey’s Son and Businessman
Broderick Harvey Jr., who came into the world in April 1991 in Cleveland, is a son of Steve Harvey and his first wife, Marcia. In 1994 when Steve and Marcia got divorced, Broderick went to live with his mother and sisters in Ohio.
During a May 2019 visit to his father’s talk show, Broderick revealed, “I didn’t really have my dad full-time in my life until I was 16.” Steve admitted his fault saying, “I had spent my entire life trying to make up for the mistakes I made as a young man.”
Steps By Stephens, a shoe company, was launched by Broderick in 2015. It donates three meals to the children in need for every pair sold. The brand has appeared on Steve’s talk show, where Steve acknowledged his son not only for the initiative but also for his commitment to hard work and giving back, saying, “That’s why I couldn’t be prouder of my oldest son.”
Wynton Harvey: Steve Harvey and Mary Shackelford’s Child
Wynton Brycelon Ali Harvey came into the world on July 18, 1997, as a child to Steve Harvey and his then 2nd wife Mary Shackelford. Their relationship ended in divorce in 2005 after nine years of marriage.
During a 2016 chat with PEOPLE, Steve shared some thoughts about the separation saying, “I got married for the wrong reasons. I was just tired of being alone. I have to take the blame for that. It wasn’t her, it was me.”
After their separation, Mary accused Steve of several things, among them being unfaithfulness and disagreements over their son’s custody. Steve explained that he was awarded the custody of Wynton when he was 13 and that their son decided to live with him.
Currently, Wynton works as a photographer and lives in Atlanta.
Morgan Hawthorne: Steve and Marjorie Harvey’s Daughter
Morgan Hawthorne’s birthday is on May 14, 1985, and Marjorie is her mother. Marjorie, on the occasion of her daughter’s birthday in 2019, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram where she reminisced, “I was 19 years old when I got pregnant with you… terrified… totally clueless… but willing to do it right.”
Steve Harvey adopted Morgan and her two siblings in 2007 after the couple got hitched, and all three kids decided to take the Harvey name.
In October 2013, Morgan got married to her boyfriend of several years, Kareem Hawthorn. Their two girls are Elle Monroe, who was born in March 2015, and Marley Jean, who came into the world on September 1, 2020.
Morgan is a chef by profession, author of a cookbook, and also a food blogger. Together with her blog I Need Some Mo, she made an appearance on Steve’s talk show in 2016.
Jason Harvey: The Son of Steve and Marjorie Harvey Who Is a Fashion Designer
Jason Harvey is Marjorie Harvey’s son, and after their marriage in 2007, Steve legally adopted him. Jason was born in August 1991.
Jason got married to the model Amanda Harvey (born Hill) in August 2013. They have four children together: a daughter Rose (born June 2014), and three sons Noah Ellington (2015), Ezra Nehemiah (2016), and Joey Iris (2020).
Jason is a fashion designer and the creator of the Worldly brand that is headquartered in Atlanta. He told in a 2022 press statement that Worldly is a brand that “embraces the fashion industry while creating an intersection between diversity, spirituality, and empowerment.” He is willing to help the Black and Brown communities find ways to grow their businesses by providing them with the necessary facilities.

Lori Harvey: eldest daughter of Steve and Marjorie Harvey
Lori Harvey, the youngest of Steve Harvey’s daughters, was born on January 13, 1997. After Marjorie and Steve’s marriage in 2007, he legally adopted Lori along with his other children Jason and Morgan.
Lori has gained a considerable following in the entertainment world. She is a model by profession and began her career in 2015. She has been a part of advertising campaigns for leading fashion houses working out of Milan and London such as Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and also for Michael Kors. Lori came up with her line of skin-care products called SKN in 2021.

At the beginning of 2023, Lori confirmed her romance with the actor Damson Idris by posting a photo on her Instagram Story where Idris was kissing her cheek. She added three heart emojis to the photo. The duo showed up at Lori’s 26th birthday party that same weekend, holding hands.
