Dr. Stephanie Buttermore was a very well-known fitness influencer and scientist, who has unfortunately passed away recently at the young age of 36. Her fiancé, who is also a YouTube star, Jeff Nippard, broke the news on Friday through a statement released by his team.
The Instagram post shared the “deep grief” at her unexpected demise, also mentioning that Stephanie and Jeff had been together for ten years. “Her warmth, kindness and compassion, her love to the family and her doctorate research into ovarian cancer, are the things she will be remembered for,” the statement said.
The announcement ended with a plea for privacy for Nippard and his family at this trying time. Currently, the cause of death remains unreported.

Recently, for Valentine’s Day, her fiancé, Jeff Nippard, even posted a sweet photo of the couple, with a caption reading, “Relationship maxxing with tea time to lower cortisol levels.”
Buttermore was a cancer researcher obtaining a Ph.D. in pathology and cell biology. She explored the molecular mechanisms that drive ovarian cancer progression according to her YouTube channel bio.
On Instagram, she had over 500K followers, and at the same time regularly posting workout clips, motivational and body positivity essays, and other private moments with Nippard. Her last Instagram posting in May 2024 announced her love for stepping away from the platform for all the good reasons of mental health.
“I don’t have anxiety anymore. Not at all. It was so bad a couple of years ago that I felt like I couldn’t breathe or even leave my house,” she said, showing her transformation to healing and self-care.

The couple made it public that they were getting married in October 2022, after having met through a social media message and then having daily Skype conversations for a month. “We started Skyping for 3-4 hours every day for about a month (no joke) until I went to visit her in Florida from Canada,” shared Nippard. “Our first date was a shoulder workout and I will never forget it.”

Jeff Nippard told how he and Stephanie Buttermore came together, mentioning, “Initially, we were Skyping 3-4 hours daily for about a month (no joke) and then I flew down to see her in Florida from Canada. Our first date was a shoulder workout and I remember it vividly.”
After Nippard’s latest post on Instagram, informing Stephanie’s death, the fans took the comment section and left there those heartfelt words of support and condolences.
