Stassi Schroeder Exposes Secret Rift With Katie Maloney After Years Of Friendship

Toasting her beloved goat cheese balls and white wine, Stassi Schroeder has always been deeply loyal in her own unapologetic way.
But friendship is a whole different story. In fact, the reality TV personality dropped the bomb that her tie with fellow Vanderpump Rules alum, Katie Maloney, had actually faced a hiccup.

“Nobody really knows that we’ve been at odds for a couple of years, ” Stassi disclosed to Marie Claire (her exclusive interview appeared April 27). “Now, as we’re coming from completely different places, we’ve also re-establishing our friendship.”

Many followers may find this disclosure quite unexpected since the discord between the two was barely visible at all. In spite of their long-standing friendship of ten years, the falling out remained relatively unseen except for a few tiny clues like less social media exchanges and public outings.

The quiet nature of Stassi and Katie’s recent disagreement is a contrast to their early years on Vanderpump Rules, where their violent fights and drink-throwing were typical. Now 37, Stassi is at a different stage of life, one that is reflected in her Hulu series, House of Stassi, which will be released on July 29.

The series also makes appearances by Maloney and attempts to portray the challenges of sustaining friendships for long periods of time. “I haven’t seen any TV shows that really delve into what happens when you get to a certain age and you all lead different lives, ” Stassi told Marie Claire. “And how that impacts your friendships and then how you come back together.”

Besides the reunion aspect of the show, Stassi also made it clear she wanted the show to be as close as possible to a real life, focusing on the real changes friends go through when they make different life choices.

“We are starving for something that is neither aspirational nor depressing, ” Stassi Schroeder remarked on her new Hulu series House of Stassi. “What we are showing is really what it’s like when you grow up.”

The show, which debuts on July 29, stars her husband Beau Clark and their close friends including Katie Maloney, Kristina Kelly, and others. Stassi states that filming the reality series was an opportunity for them to work on their relationships by simply communicating openly and honestly.

“You have to express your thoughts verbally otherwise there is no show, ” she said. Currently a mother of two, Stassi mentioned that the cast was able to bring up everything and turn it into a very nice dialogue they met the difficult conversations with respect, vulnerability, and honesty.

Katie Maloney Hints at Her Reality TV Comeback With House of Stassi

Katie Maloney is all set to come out of her shell. Before the July 29 premiere of House of Stassi, the reality TV pro reminisced about her homecoming on screens after a hiatus of more than a year post Vanderpump Rules.

“So excited that @houseofstassi is finally coming this July 29th on @hulu and @freeform, ” Katie proclaimed in a 25th April Instagram post. “I’m officially back from my retirement.”

Focusing on Katie’s reunion with Stassi Schroeder, the new show also offers an opportunity to delve back into the complicated friendships that were first uncovered on Vanderpump Rules.

A large part of Vanderpump Rules season one, airing in 2013, was about the couple dealing with Jax cheating on Stassi when they were in Las Vegas. The couple, known for their fiery relationship, eventually broke up for good in season two after it was disclosed that Jax had a tryst with their coworker/friend Kristen Doute.

Stassi Schroeder, who starred on Vanderpump Rules, started dating Beau Clark, a casting executive, in 2017 while she was still on the show. Stassi was dismissed from the show in 2020 and that same year in September they got married legally during the COVID-19 restrictions. They had their first baby, a girl Hartford in January 2021.

In May 2022, the couple held a lavish wedding reception in Italy to mark their marriage. They became parents for the second time in 2023 when they welcomed a boy named Messer.

Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright got together in 2015 after Jax had broken up with Stassi Schroeder. Even though Jax was caught cheating with a former VH1 co-star Faith Stowers, the two kept going and eventually got married in 2019 at a castle in Kentucky (Brittany’s home state) with the wedding being aired as a Bravo special.

They had a baby boy, Cruz, in April 2021, about a year after they left Vanderpump Rules.

Unfortunately, their relationship did not last. In February 2024, the two declared their breaking up, with Brittany leaving the house. She legitimated the divorce in August that year.

Tom Sandoval & Ariana Madix

Tom Sandoval, after his split with Kristen Doute met Ariana Madix and started dating her when she joined Vanderpump Rules in season three in 2013. During the next nine years, the couple became the show’s most steady ones, purchasing a house together, getting dogs and even collaborating on a cocktail book.

Unexpectedly their long-lasting relationship ended in March 2023 when the news of Sandoval’s seven-month affair with the fellow castmate stopped fans quite a bit. The disclosure was a shock to everybody and the couple was separated.

After the incident, Sandoval mentioned that the lack of intimacy was one of the reasons for their relationship difficulties and claimed that they were already apart when the affair was made public. On the other hand, he also confessed that he and Raquel first kissed in August 2022, which was before Ariana came to know about the affair.

Ariana Madix & Daniel Wai

Hurt by Tom’s cheating, Ariana Madix went on with fitness trainer Daniel Wai only a month after breaking up with Tom Sandoval. The couple was spotted for the first time connecting at the Coachella weekend in April 2023, where they were seen kissing and enjoying each other’s company.

After such a long time, the two of them are still very much in love and together.

After Mike Shay and Scheana Shay broke up in 2017 by legal divorce, it was two years later that Scheana met Brock Davies while out with friends in San Diego, and their love was quickly confirmed with the couple. Their wedding in Cancún in August of 2022, which was shown during the 10th season of Vanderpump Rules, was a surprise event for the fans as it later transpired on an episode from April 2023 that it was a legal marriage done a year before the destination ceremony.

Nevertheless, Scheana disclosed in her 2025 book My Good Side that Brock was not faithful in 2020 when she was pregnant. As per Scheana, he confessed to the indiscretion only when the 2023 Scandoval drama was at its peak.

Katie Maloney & Tom Schwartz

After the couple had been together for six years, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz decided to get married in August 2016. However, their relationship, which was often turbulent, was revealed to the public through the show “Vanderpump Rules.” After many years of highs and lows, Katie made the decision to file for divorce in March 2022, thereby ending their 12-year relationship.
Initially, they decided to remain friends and on good terms, but unfortunately the kiss that Schwartz gave to Raquel in August 2022 caused their friendship to be beyond repair, and it became impossible for them to have an amicable friendship.
During season 10, Katie had a short-lived relationship with actor Satchel Clendenin; however, they have since broken up. As for Schwartz, he is currently single.

James Kennedy & Raquel Leviss

James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss after five years of being a couple eventually got engaged but then broke up in November 2021. Raquel in a later interview mentioned that James’ anger management problems was one of the main reasons for their break up.

At the Vanderpump Rules season nine reunion in January 2022, the ex-lovebirds gave more details about their problem and made it known that they almost had no physical intimacy for two years before they broke up.

James Kennedy & Ally Lewber

Shortly after joining the cast of Vanderpump Rules in season three, James Kennedy and Kristen Doute had a brief fling. However, their relationship came to an end in 2015.

James was seen with Ally Lewber just a couple of months after his split with Raquel Leviss in January 2022, and they appeared on the red carpet together in February. Vanderpump Rules season 10 saw Ally as a cast member, and the duo’s storyline included their decision to cohabit.

Nonetheless, their love life ran into problems in December 2024 after James was taken into custody for alleged domestic violence with a woman who has not been identified. By the following month, the pair had announced their separation amid the legal drama, which eventually did not result in any charges being filed.

Lala Kent & Randall Emmett

Lala Kent and movie producer Randall Emmett broke off their engagement in October 2021 after being together for three years. The couple split after the birth of their baby girl, Ocean, in March 2021. Lala, later on, stated that one of the reasons for their breakup was Randall’s cheating, which he denied.

In season 10 of Vanderpump Rules, Lala revealed that she had not been with anyone physically since their breakup but she got back to dating during a girls trip to Lake Havasu.

Both Lala and Randall are single at the moment.

Kristen Doute & Luke Broderick

After her breakups with Tom Sandoval and Jax Taylor, Kristen Doute hooked up with Brian Carter on and off while appearing on Bravo.

Later on, Kristen got involved with Alex Menache, and they were together for two years until they broke up in June 2022.

That very month, Kristen met Luke Broderick and started dating. They first saw each other as bridesmaid and groomsman at their mutual friend’s wedding and have kept a steady relationship ever. Besides their relationship, Luke also often joins Kristen when she records her podcast, Love, Sex and What Else Matters.

The pair revealed that they are engaged in September 2024.

Kristina Kelly, a Vanderpump Rules veteran who has made several appearances starting season two, gave birth to her first child, a boy named River, along with her husband and boyfriend Max Ville in March 2023. They have known each other for 12 years and more.

Tom Schwartz & Sophia Skoro

Tom Schwartz fell in love again for the first time after his divorce when he met and started dating 23-year-old Sophia Skoro.

More recently, in March 2024, he said, “We love each other, ” and went on to commend the vintage fashion entrepreneur as being “one of the coolest human beings on earth, ” further adding that she’s “sharp as hell” and is a very successful person all-the-while having a very distinct sense of humor.

In October 2024, around two years following her separation from Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney announced that she was “in love” with a new secret boyfriend.
