The​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ actor Shia LaBeouf has again found himself in legal trouble after being arrested at Mardi Gras in New Orleans on February 17. Online jail records have revealed his arrest to E! News. The 39-year-old actor who starred in Holes, has been accused of simple battery, which is considered a minor offense. New Orleans Police Department said that LaBeouf was taken into custody shortly after midnight local time after they got the report of two victims being assaulted.
The police issued the following statement, “A man later identified as 39-year-old Shia LaBeouf was reportedly causing a disturbance and was becoming more and more aggressive at a Royal Street business.” ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ When a member of the staff tried to get Mr. LaBeouf out of the establishment, he resisted. After leaving the building, the victim told the police that LaBeouf had hit him with a closed fist several times.”

After briefly leaving the scene, Shia LaBeouf thankfully came back but unfortunately he was “acting even more aggressive,” the police said. Several people tried to restrain him and when he was allowed to go in the hope that he would leave, he allegedly hit the same person again with closed fists in the upper body. Later​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ on, LaBeouf reportedly slapped another individual in the mouth with his fist, thus causing a nose bleed, according to police. At some point, before his arrest, LaBeouf was taken to a hospital to be treated for some unexplained injuries. LaBeouf, who has separated from wife Mia Goth, after tying the knot two years ago in 2018, is scheduled to appear in court on the afternoon of February 17. The pre-trial hearing is set for March 19. A simple battery conviction under Louisiana law can carry a penalty of a fine not exceeding $1,000 and/or a jail term of up to six ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌months.

Shia​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ LaBeouf Clears $10 Million Lawsuit with Ex FKA Twigs

In the month of July, Shia LaBeouf put an end to the matter of the lawsuit with his former girlfriend FKA Twigs (Tahliah Debrett Barnett), whom he was in a relationship with in 2019. Barnett has withdrawn her $10 million lawsuit against LaBeouf, as she has filed a motion to dismiss all claims with prejudice, as per the records acquired by E! News.
“Determined to build a positive future, we have mutually decided to settle our dispute without going to court,” said Barnett’s attorney Bryan Freedman in a joint statement with LaBeouf’s lawyer Shawn Holley. “Although the settlement’s terms will be confidential, we send each other good wishes for happiness, success and tranquility in the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌future.”
