However, things go awry as the groom is nowhere to be seen and leaves a dead body behind. Sylvia steps in to investigate and then falls in love with the country.

She settles in a quaint house on a hillside, giving her the perfect opportunity to reconnect with her family. But Sylvia, disillusioned by her job as a spy, isn’t about to lead a quiet life as she investigates a new case every week.

Her investigations introduce Giovanni Riva, a handsome local police officer, into her life. The series stars Emilia Fox, Tara Fitzgerald, and Giovanni Cirfiera. Signora Volpe premiered recently on Acorn TV.

He gets assistance from Jean, a calm and collected agent who helps him progress on the case. The two discover the mysterious acronym IPCRESS, which Jean works hard to decipher.

The Ipcress File cast includes Joe Cole, Lucy Boynton, and Tom Hollander, premiered on May 19, 2022, on Acorn TV and will have six episodes.

The series stars Alexa (played by New Zealander Lucy Lawless), a playful but fearless private investigator. She’s called upon by an old colleague Kieran, who works as a detective to investigate some unsolved cases. Data analyst Madison helps the two solve some tricky matters.

My Life is Murder is a drama-comedy investigative series perfect for those who prefer light-hearted mystery series.

The series stars Lucy Lawless, Ebony Vagulans, and Bernard Curry and also features fellow New Zealand actor Joe Naafahu who appeared on Spartacus and Game of Thrones.

The second season of My Life is Murder premiered on May 23 2022, with ten episodes.

Garage Sale Mysteries

There’s also the mysterious case of a killer who leaves clues based on a novel. Acorn TV has many investigative drama shows on its platform, and Garage Sale Mysteries is one of the most intriguing.

Thérèse Raquin

This 1980 series is based on a novel by Emile Zola and is a complicated tale of obsession, passion, and an unforgivable act. The series is about Thérèse Raquin who’s married to the unwell Camille.

Instead of being there for her husband as he battles an illness, Thérèse Raquin starts having an affair with Laurent. The two are inseparable and devise a plan to get rid of Camille so they can be together. However, they start getting haunted by their actions.

Thérèse Raquin is an extraordinary miniseries that aired back in 1980. It’s a classic and is ideal for drama TV series enthusiasts. But the show is not for the faint of heart, as the actions of Thérèse Raquin and Laurent are offensive. Also, the show is unsuitable for those under 18s because it has adult content.

The Shell Seekers has two episodes and is best defined as a slow-paced masterpiece with a theatrical storytelling style.
