Gordon and Tana Ramsay Deny Wrongdoing in Adam Peaty Family Disagreement
Gordon and Tana Ramsay have said they “have done nothing wrong” even though there is a lot of drama recently after the wedding of their daughter Holly to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. The couple took their vows at Bath Abbey on December 27.
It was a family feud between Adam and his family that cast a shadow over the wedding and as a result 31-year-old athlete decided to uninvite his parents. It is said that Adam told his dad that he could come to the church but would have to sit at the back – a choice his dad didn’t accept.
In a speech at the wedding, Gordon Ramsay was said to have contributed to the tension by telling the audience that his wife, Tana, “will be a good mum to them both.” Later on, Holly was supportive of her father’s remarks.
Gordon Ramsay Describes Peaty Family Dispute as “Self-Inflicted” and “Upsetting”
Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty are busy enjoying their honeymoon, but that has not stopped Gordon Ramsay from talking about the hardship in the relationship with Adam’s family. The celebrity chef told MailOnline
that the whole thing was really “upsetting”, and basically, the other side is “self-inflicting” the conflict.
“It’s basically all self-inflicted from their side, because we are innocent of – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance—we welcomed them,” Gordon said. He also mentioned that they had not only been very respectful towards Adam’s parents, but they actually “treated Adam’s parents like royalty” as well, going as far as sending a chauffeur-driven car for them to attend the engagement party.
Gordon confessed that the bad press had been “a very big blow” especially when he thought about his wife, Tana. He also showed a hopeful spirit by basically saying, “I’m up for going up to Nottingham with Tana and seeing them, and basically, agreeing to let bygones be bygones.”
Gordon Ramsay Says He Respected Adam and Holly’s Decision Regarding Wedding Guests
Gordon Ramsay pointed out that the couple, Adam Peaty and Holly, were the ones who decided not to invite Adam’s parents to the wedding. “It was Adam and Holly’s decision not to have them there and so we had to give them that,” he said.
The chef pointed out that the major problems are between Adam and his parents, “There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. I don’t see how it concerns Tana and me.”
After being estranged, Gordon said that he and his family were ready to put the whole thing behind them and thus the couple will be able to focus solely on their future. “We are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue getting on with their lives together,” he added.
Tana Ramsay on Family Discord and Desire for Civility
Tana Ramsay also gave her take on the family drama, relying on her background experiences with quarrels in the family. “We’ve had fallouts in my family too, and there are absolutely no winners,” she said during the tearful talk.
Tana, who was very thankful that her family issues were sorted out, stressed the point of letting go of bad feelings. “I’m just so glad that we got through mine and we are having happy relationships again,” she confessed.
She argued that even if a perfect harmony is not always feasible, at least a basic respect is one of the necessities. “You don’t have to be best friends, but you can be civil,” Tana added. “If one side is in a crazy fallout, the other can’t be happy. It’s truly negative energy, and no one wants that one.”

A dispute scrum between Adam Peaty and his mother, Caroline, 60, reportedly got heated in November when she was not invited to Holly Ramsay’s hen do.
After that, it was claimed that Caroline was “outraged and hurt” by what she saw as Gordon Ramsay’s “cruel” digs at her family during the wedding ceremony—something he has denied in his recent interview.
