With social distancing in place and many events canceled, figuring out how you\u2019re going to spend the weekend may seem a little tricky. Luckily, there are still many things to do to ring in Independence Day. If you\u2019re in a rut, with caution, consider one of these activities for celebrating 4th of July in Phoenix!<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4346\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4346\" style=\"width: 2000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4346\" src=\"https:\/\/urbanmatter.com\/phoenix\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Mesa-Fireworks-Source-Hakes-Bros-Facebook.jpg\" alt=\"4th of july phoenix\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1330\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4346\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Credit: Hakes Bros Facebook<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fireworks\"><\/span><span class=\"s1\">Fireworks<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">While many cities like Fountain Hills, Phoenix, and Tempe have canceled their firework shows, there are still celebrations planned in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buckeyeaz.gov\/residents\/events-in-buckeye\/independence-day-celebration\/independence-day-celebration-faq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Buckeye<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chandleraz.gov\/explore\/special-events\/july-4th-fireworks-spectacular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Chandler<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodyearaz.gov\/government\/departments-divisions-a-z\/parks-recreation\/recreation-programs\/star-spangled-4th\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Goodyear<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/arizonacelebrationoffreedom.com\/?page_id=61\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Mesa<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilbertaz.gov\/departments\/parks-and-recreation\/special-events-and-permits\/gilbert-s-july-4th-celebration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Gilbert<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/schnepffarms.com\/4th-of-july\/?v=e748b7c8fd06\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\">Queen Creek<\/span><\/a>, and more. With 114 miles of shoreline and a 10-lane boat ramp, there\u2019s plenty of room for everyone looking to celebrate. Put together a picnic basket full of goodies and head there early (the parks opens at 7) in the morning as the park is limiting visitors and it fills up quite quickly. Though the rodeo will look a bit different this year with limited capacity to allow for social distancing, they are proud to continue to have fans in the stands. Hance Park. Bring the family and pup for some football or bring board games and battle one another in a light-hearted competition. A simple drive up north will bring you to hundreds of campgrounds where you can pitch a tent and enjoy the great outdoors. From Lake Havasu to Prescott to Payson to Sedona to Flagstaff, the options are endless. Just get those campsites booked in advance to make sure you snag a spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">No matter what you choose to do this Independence Day the most important thing to remember to exercise caution. Practice social distancing, drink plenty of water, and wear sunscreen anytime you\u2019re outdoors.
