Apart from being an actor, poet, and voice artist, Peter Terry will always be remembered as the Ivan Jones character in Binnelanders, a show where he acted alongside Jonathan Pienaar and Phillip C. Henn (both passed away).
Elizabeth Zacharie, his daughter, went public with the sad news via Facebook on April 10, 2026, revealing how deeply upset the family is. “We are extremely saddened to let you know that our dear Peter Terry, dad, husband, and friend, departed this morning, ” is what she conveyed. She mentioned that the family is truly broken but finds solace in the fact that he is no longer in pain and suffering. Peter Terry’s death was a result of surgery complications during a fight with cancer

Netwerk said on April 10, 2026, that Peter Terry was admitted for a simple operation but after the surgery, he got severely ill because of complications.

Peter Thorien Theatre’s marketer, Mark Sage, confirmed the hospitalization, whereas actor and director, Alywyn Swart stated that Terry’s previous cancer battled was a factor in his health declining.
