Hayley Williams Claims that the Racist Country Singer in Her New Song is Morgan Wallen

Hayley Williams Calls Out Morgan Wallen

In most cases, Hayley Williams doesn’t name people on purpose – However, this time she made a special case.
She hints at one of those infamous country singers in the new song “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party” Hayley sings “I’ll be the biggest star at this racist country singer’s bar.” On September 30th edition of The New York Times Popcast podcast, Williams unveiled that the pointer in the lyric line was meant for the singer of the Morgan Wallen Nashville venue This Bar.
“It might be a couple of things,” UKV said referring to that line when asked who it was written for. “But I’m always talking about Morgan Wallen. I don’t give a s–t.”

Williams Doubles Down

Williams didn’t stop at simply naming Morgan Wallen — she even dared him to confront her. “Find me at Whole Foods, b–h, I don’t care,” she quipped, taking aim at the “Last Night” singer without any hesitation.
E! News has sent a request for comment to Wallen’s camp regarding Williams’ remarks but has not received a response.
She’s not the only one, though, pointing out the bad behavior of Wallen. The fellow Nashville stars Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris, were equally upset with The Voice alumnus, after a 2021 video of him using a racial slur had gone viral.

Fellow Artists Speak Out

Kelsea Ballerini was one of the first after the incident to react to the video of Morgan Wallen where he is heard using a racial slur. On X, she wrote, “The news out of Nashville tonight does not represent country music.”
On the other hand, Maren Morris was more direct and blunt in her response as she admitted being disappointed but not shocked by Wallen’s behavior. “It actually IS representative of our town because this isn’t his first ‘scuffle’ and he just demolished a huge streaming record last month regardless,” said the singer of “The Middle.” “We all know it wasn’t his first time using that word. We keep them rich and protected at all costs with no recourse.”

Wallen Responds to Backlash

Morgan Wallen, who has typically been quite resolute during his recent incidents with the media, admitted that he was wrong in the situation. Right after the video of him using a racial slur was published by TMZ, the singer pointed out his doing as a “careless” “f**k” mistake.
“I’m humiliated and apologetic,” Wallen announced via a public statement to E! News. “I used an extremely offensive and inappropriate racial slur which I regret the most. There is no shouting reason, not even once, for using such a language. I want to say sorry from the depth of my heart for uttering that word. I am determined to become a better person.”

Morgan Wallen Abruptly Exits SNL Stage

Live from New York…it was a quick farewell.
After his Saturday Night Live performance on March 29, 2025, Morgan Wallen went on stage with host Mikey Madison as per usual to the impromptu skit and goodbye. But instead of walking off with the cast as the credits rolled, the country star gave Madison a very brief hug and immediately left, thus breaking with usual practice.
Not long after, Wallen seemed to make the moment even more pointed with an Instagram Story of a plane on the runway that read, “Get me to God’s country.”

Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty in Chair-Throwing Case

Morgan Wallen’s legal complications escalated following his April 2024 arrest for allegedly hurling a chair off the rooftop of Chief’s, a Nashville bar. At the time, the police confirmed the event, and shortly after that, the Grammy nominee made a public statement.
“Properly checking in publicly didn’t feel right before I made amends with some folks,” Wallen said on X on April 19, 2024. “I’ve checked in with the law enforcement in Nashville, my family, and the nice people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of the way I acted, and I do.”
Then in December 2024, Wallen went before the court and admitted guilt to two counts of reckless endangerment, misdemeanors. The judge disposes two years of probation, seven days at a DUI education center, and the seven days of community service as his sentence.

Morgan Wallen Used a Racial Slur

After a video of Morgan Wallen using a racial slur was leaked in February 2021, the singer was heavily criticized. As a result, Wallen quickly put out a public apology. He told E! News, “I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. Saying this type of language there is zero if not none of the total occasions. I want to make a sincere apology for the usage of that word. I promise that I will improve myself.”
He was immediately and severely punished. The rejection came in the form of harsh criticism from the country music artists, radio stations that stopped playing his songs, his record label that suspended his contract unconditionally, and several award shows that refuse to let him walk on their stage that year.

Wallen Elaborates Apology

Wallen later on that same month, in an Instagram video, went beyond his initial apology, recognizing the extent to which his actions had affected others. “My words matter,” he stated. “One word can really offend a person, and at my very core, it is not something that I am OK with. This week I actually heard personally the stories of some Black people that really affected me a lot. And I am fully aware that what I am going through this week is nothing compared to the difficulties that I have heard them speak of. I left those talks with a deep thankfulness to them and a more vivid understanding of the heaviness of my words.”

Morgan Wallen Broke SNL’s COVID-19 Protocols

Morgan Wallen was supposed to make his SNL debut in October 2020 but was off the list after pictures and videos appeared showing him celebrating in Alabama, a place where the show’s strict COVID-19 safety regulations were in force, and he had apparently violated them.
“I was preparing for SNL this Saturday, and the show called me to let me know that I was not going to be able to perform,” Wallen said in a video he posted on social media. “The reason is COVID protocols, which I get. I’m not a COVID positive case, but my behavior last weekend was quite careless and it seems that it has impacted my future ambitions and my dreams.”

Stepping Back and Returning to SNL

The ‘Last Night’ singer confesses that as a result of the incident, he still has not fully developed his personality. ‘On a more personal note, I should also have some personality growth,’ Wallen said. ‘I think that I have not been really myself. I was partially inclined to look for joy in the misplaced locations, but it turned out that it made me have less happiness. Consequently, to refocus on myself, I intend to re-center my life with the interior work and self-care. I am going to take a step off the stage for a little while and just focus on my own self.’
In the meantime, Jack White was the musical guest who took over. But as of December 2020, Wallen was allowed back at SNL not only to perform but also he made a joke about his incident in a sketch.

Morgan Wallen Arrested for Alleged Disorderly Conduct

Morgan Wallen, an ex-singer from The Voice, got into a fight at Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville in May 2020 and as a result, he was arrested for public intoxication and disorganized conduct. The arrest warrant seen by The Tennessean stated that Wallen had been “kicking glass items” and, then, “getting into verbal fights with pedestrians.”
After the incident, Wallen took to X to issue an apology, “I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.”
By July 2020, according to publicly available court records from the office of the Howard Gentry Criminal Court Clerk in Tennessee, the charges had been dismissed.

Morgan Wallen Arrested for Alleged DUI

Morgan Wallen found himself in hot water with the law in 2016 in his home state of Tennessee, as per online court records, he was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. But the legal matter did not progress as the documentation indicates that the release of the charge was executed in 2016.
