Lulu Shocked by Finding Out Late Ex-Husband Maurice Gibb’s Secret Son

Lulu Confirms Late Ex-Husband Maurice Gibb Secretly Fathered a Son

Scottish singer Lulu has revealed a shocking allegation that her late former husband, Bee Gees star Maurice Gibb, had a child with another woman during their six-year marriage. The 77-year-old singer was talking about her marriage to the musician and other famous relationships she had after that when she appeared on the latest episode of The Louis Theroux Podcast.

In an interview with Theroux, Lulu, who separated from Gibb in 1973 and did not have children, said she “just found out” and that she has the undeniable evidence of the secret son. “I think he’s got a son, ” she said. “It might have even been during our marriage. I just found out. Somebody showed me something… he has a son who has had his genes taken. It’s proven. He’s one hundred percent Maurice’s.”

Leading to cardiac arrest, Maurice Gibb died in 2003. He is known to have two children, daughter Samantha and son Adam, from his second marriage with Yvonne Spenceley.

Nick Endacott-Gibb Says He Is “Maurice Gibb’s Secret Son”

Nick Endacott-Gibb, who was adopted when he was baby, in 2019 declared that he is the biological son of Maurice Gibb and Patti Nolder, a British performer and also band studio manager. A sample of DNA revealed that he was a “100 percent match” with a known son of Maurice named Adam Gibb.

Although Nick has the DNA evidence of his paternity, he exposed that some family members are still raising public doubts about his statement. “I don’t understand why some family members still publicly cast doubt on the validity of the DNA result I gave two years ago, instead of listening to the music I’m making which must speak for itself, ” he quoted.
In 2003 Nick had a talk with Patti, who was searching for biological parents all his life. Patti was working as a studio manager with the Bee Gees and had a very close relationship with the Gibb brothers- Barry, Robin, and Maurice.

Nick grew up in a middle-class family located in Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. At first, he thought that his father was Chris Andrews, the frontman of the Sixties rock band Fleur de Lys, but a 2009 DNA test showed differently.

Nick Endacott-Gibb Sees His Biological Dad in a DNA Match

Nick Endacott-Gibb, adopted as a baby, has at last uncovered the truth he was after. After Patti Nolder’s sister informed him that Maurice Gibb was his biological father, Nick underwent three different facial recognition tests, all indicating a very probable kinship. One of the tests even resulted in a match percentage of 95.2.

Years of pleading fell on deaf ears as Maurice’s widow, Yvonne, turned down Nick’s proposal for a DNA test. Instead, Nick sent his saliva to an online genealogy company, only to be amazed when he found out that Maurice’s son, Adam, had already given his DNA to Ancestry.co.uk some years ago. The match was the final confirmation for Nick.

In an interview with Louis Theroux, Lulu was asked if Maurice might be the father of the son he had during their marriage. She replied that since it “really wasn’t that important, ” she had not even checked the date of birth of the child. Then she remarked, “I think I used to take myself way too seriously. I know you’re surprised at that, but it’s true, I think.”

Reflections on the Complexity of Life and Love

During a recent interview, Lulu shared her thoughts on the challenges of living life to its fullest, including how crucial it is to accept and embrace it’s complexity. She explained, “When you take life too seriously, or see events purely as black or white and know there are so many grey areas in between, you have been through so much trial and error that you don’t want to close your mind to find out why things happen.”

Lulu elaborated that she has experienced extreme highs and extreme lows in her own life, just like everyone else has. “I’ve had plenty of things that could’ve made me want to give up but I’m no different from anyone else in that respect!”

After her divorce from Maurice Gibb in 1975, Lulu started dating celebrity hairstylist, John Frieda. But this romance hit a bump in the road when she was briefly involved in an affair with David Bowie who was at the peak of his career as one of the greatest musicians of the 70s.
Lulu recalls, “I had a short-lived romance with him…but I think he and John were aware of each other.” She explained that although the fling was short, the issue of her past relationship with David had an effect on her current relationship with John.

Lulu reminisces about emotional reuniting with Maurice Gibb prior his death

In 2002, Lulu reunited with Maurice Gibb, her former husband, on stage during her star-studded television special An Audience With… Lulu, just a year prior to his death. When Lulu invited Maurice to perform with her, it created a special moment for many people.
“I kind of knew in my heart that he probably would, and he did.” She said, “Maurice was a lovely man. I didn’t want to use him, I wanted to use him for a good reason, and I am glad that I used him because it touched the hearts of so many people.”

Lulu said it allowed both Maurice and her relationship to be seen in an unguarded light. “It also allowed me to pay tribute to Maurice separately from his brothers. And now I am thankful that I paid tribute.”

“Whenever you break up with someone, you don’t say everything that you would like to, you don’t clarify everything, or there’s confusion, or there are misunderstandings… So it was a nice way to close this circle.”
Lulu said that Maurice enjoyed the experience and felt that he had not made as great of a contribution to the Bee Gees. “With his brothers having been in The Bee Gees and him,” LuLu reflected, “he felt that he was always less than.”
