Viewers May Be Unaware of These Production Hacks
The concept of Love Is Blind was so captivating in 2020 that the main interest of the public was to find out which couples would end up getting married. However, with the arrival of the final episode of season nine on Oct. 22, the inquiries extend further than just the confirmation of the nuptials. Following the first season, the audience was obsessed with the constant presence of the golden cups on the set of the show, thus they were conjecturing that these were employed as a means to conceal the quantity of drinks and thereby avoid continuity problems during the editing process.
The Truth About Those Gold Cups
Among various fan theories, one regarding the use of the golden cups was refuted by creator Chris Coelen. Talking to Variety in 2022, he said that the gold glasses were picked just for looks: “When you turn on the show, you know it’s our show.” Coelen further explained that even though the show is real and the characters’ stories are followed, the cups are there as a kind of a playful, light “connective tissue” to unify the different parts of the show.
More Love Is Blind Mysteries Solved
Those are not the only mysteries of Love Is Blind that got solved. Actually, Duliba Matthew, a sixth-season cast member of the Netflix hit, revealed his earnings and said that people who are in the pod portion of the series get $5,000 just for their appearance.
Moreover, the two hosts of Love Is Blind Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey have just recently explained in a very funny way the reason why they are not allowed to be on the set anymore when couples are leaving their pods and meeting each other for the first time.
Why the Hosts Aren’t Present at the Reveals Anymore
“We were all at the reveal,” Vanessa informed Parade in a video dated Oct. 8. “It was me, Nick, the glam girls, costume, audio—everyone.” However, the producers soon figured out that the fans were interfering with the moment. “It was so loud that it got to a point where they had to be very quiet,” Vanessa explained, imitating the shocked sounds of the people seeing couples coming out. “The camera crew was like, ‘Shh!’”
Love Is Blind season 9 finale will be available on Netflix from Oct. 22.
