Lindsey Vonn Celebrates First Post-Surgery Pull-Ups After Olympic Injury

Lindsey Vonn is showing the world her strength as she goes through the recovery process from a severe injury she obtained during the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics. Over a month removed from the accident that resulted in a fractured left tibia, the 41-year-old alpine ski racing icon celebrated a major milestone in her recovery journey.

In a video she posted on Instagram on March 21, Lindsey Vonn completed six pull-ups on her own before stepping down carefully and going back to her crutches. She celebrated the milestone with a fist bump for her trainer and a playful gesture at the camera.

“First set of pull ups post surgery. Slowly getting there!” she captioned the video.

Since her injury at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics, Lindsey Vonn, who has had several surgeries on her leg, has been open about the challenges she is facing in her recovery journey, both physically and mentally.

Recently, the Olympic gold medalist revealed how her recovery journey has not been smooth, opening up about the mental challenges she is facing. “Today was a hard day… my physical battle began the second I got hurt but the mental battle started today,” she revealed.

Although Lindsey Vonn claimed that she is no stranger to the challenge of getting through difficult situations, the ski racer admitted that it is not always as easy as it looks.

“It’s a battle I’m used to because I’ve done it so many times. I have always learned from every injury. Each one has made me a better and stronger person in different ways… but the battle of the mind can be dark and hard and unrelenting,” Lindsey Vonn said.

Although Lindsey Vonn confessed that “hard days are coming,” the gold medalist from the Olympics remained positive by saying, “but I will find a way back to the top of the mountain of life.”

Lindsey Vonn Asks Fans to Stay Positive During Her Recovery

Even as Lindsey Vonn goes through her difficult recovery period, she remains positive and encourages her fans to do the same.

“Reading a lot of comments and messages, and many of them are telling me that what has happened to me makes them sad,” Lindsey shared on Instagram. “Please, don’t be sad. While empathy, love, and support are all welcome with open arms, don’t be sad or feel sorry for me. I hope it inspires you to keep going, because it is doing that for me, and it is what I am going to keep doing, and it is what I will keep doing.”
