Kiefer Sutherland Reflects on Career Decisions and Parenthood
During an interview with the Independent, Kiefer Sutherland disclosed that he didn’t map out his career in great detail. This was mainly because fatherhood to Sarah Sutherland at a young age threw his life into a completely different direction. Having children early made the couple’s life more real and after that, a lot of career decisions were dictated by the immediate needs of the family.
“I had kids at a very young age. I had to take on some responsibilities, and, therefore, a lot of choices in my career were made pretty early,” Sutherland stated. He recognized that, at times, the need to make money trumped the desire to do art and as a result, there are certain roles that he passed up and now regrets.
