Nicole Kidman on finding strength after upheaval
She says that aging has equipped her with the necessary skills to bravely face difficult times — and, furthermore, to believe in her recovery
She attributes it to hindsight Nicole Kidman. The 58-year-old wife of AMC Theatres brand ambassador was less than two weeks with the separation filing from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage when she spoke about why getting older had become her strongest point. “The primary one is the experiences that you have gathered,” she said to Harper’s Bazaar, an interview released on Oct. 9. “You end up saying, ‘Oh, I’ve gone through this before. Actually, I know what to do with this one.’ Or, ‘It could be that I haven’t actually been in this place, but I have gone through something close to this, therefore, I do know that I will come out of it.'”

“There is a way through” – she says that you cannot numb it, but a gentle, patient approach makes it gradually diminish
In addition to that, the Practical Magic actress shared, “It is something we grasp from the very start that the lessor was the pain – and it was the next step, the next breath and the next way through.”
Meanwhile Nicole is prepared to endure a tough ordeal, she acknowledges that suffering is inevitable in the process of development.
“The pain has to be felt,” she went on. “Numbing it will not be an option. You will have to experience it and it will seem overwhelming at times. You will feel as if you are broken, but if you go on gently and slowly—and it can take a lot of time—it actually goes away.”
Her children continue to be her guide in life’s most difficult times
Nicole admits that life’s difficulties have shaped her into a strong woman but her absolutely first reason is the mom role to the four girls -Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, daughters of Keith Urban and her, aged 17 and 14, respectively, and Bella and Connor, children of Tom Cruise and her, aged 32 and 30. “My children [give me the] purpose of being their protector and their guide,” the Big Little Lies star said, “categorizing to them that I am here and that, whatever happens, there is always a safe place to grow up in.”
Divorce filing outlines co‑parenting plan as Nicole moves forward
On Sept. 30, Nicole submitted a divorce petition against Keith, which came a day after media reports of their separation since the beginning of June. E! News discovered that she first attempted to mend her relationship before going ahead with the divorce, though she has remained silent about the breakup. A joint stipulation on a parental plan that the two former spouses signed in the court filing shared by E! News said that the exes have reached an understanding in a co‑parenting plan identifying Nicole as the primary residential parent: their daughters will live with her for 306 days a year and have 59 days’ visit with their dad.
