Kaley‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Cuoco Recalls “Worst Morning” of Her Life Amid Divorce and Career Highs

Kaley Cuoco hit a very low point in her personal life on the very day that she was due to mark a landmark career achievement. Speaking to Drew Barrymore in an interview that will be aired on Monday, Feb. 9, on The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress revealed the intense depression she was going through while the divorce from her husband was underway in 2022.
“It was the premiere of the second season of Flight Attendant, and I woke up that morning, I was so depressed and so sad, I couldn’t even breathe and I was just laying on the floor,” Cuoco remembered. “I thought for sure I was going to die. I really thought that. I said to myself, ‘Why am I doing this?'”
The actress compared the morning to “the worst morning of my life,” a feeling that was even more shocking because she thought that the premiere of her HBO Max series was “the best night of my life” (just as a matter of fact, her divorce was happening at that time). Looking back, she said, “It is unbelievable that such things sometimes happen ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌simultaneously.”

Kaley Cuoco detailed to fans how she was feeling at her lowest point when she was on the verge of a major career premiere. The star confessed that she was suffering from such a severe bout of depression that she was practically lying down the whole time.
She explained, “My team came over to get me ready, and they literally got me ready on the floor. I couldn’t get up. I’m like, ‘I can’t go. I can’t go anywhere. I blew up my life. My life’s over.’ I really thought that. Never getting married again. I’m never gonna have kids. This is it.”
It was while lying on the floor of her house that Cuoco came to the realization of just how low she had gotten. “I knew, when I was laying on that floor in my house, I thought, ‘Oh my God, this is what they talk about. This is the lowest point I could get,'” she remembered.
However, just a few weeks later, her life changed drastically after meeting a star of Ozark, Tom Pelphrey. Now they are engaged, and they have a daughter Matilda who is almost three and will turn three on March ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌30.

Kaley Cuoco in an emotional conversation, shared, “I had prayed so much that I think my soul died.” She reminisced a moment when she told a magazine, “I’m never getting married again,” a statement she believed so strongly at that time—however, things changed once she met Tom Pelphrey.
Cuoco breaks down how it is perfectly fine to change one’s mind. “You just sometimes change your mind and that is absolutely fine,” she explained. “You certainly didn’t know that I was lying on the floor before my premiere ready to die, that’s true… It still upsets me as I can remember it very vividly, but it really transformed me into a new person. But it takes a lot of time. It takes a lot of time to figure that out and a lot of forgiveness.”
After divorcing tennis star Ryan Sweeting with whom she was married for three years, Cuoco had a romantic relationship with equestrian Karl Cook, got married to him in 2018 and in 2021 they separated. She revealed her relationship with Pelphrey in May 2022, and later that year, they made public the news of their first child on the way. Cuoco and Pelphrey got engaged in August ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌2024.
