Jessie‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Buckley and Freddie’s Life Split Between London and Country

Jessie Buckley and Freddie are a married couple who love a good mix between the frenzied city life and the peaceful countryside. They were recently spotted in Hackney, London, where they enjoyed Regent’s Canal and later had a drink at The Dove on Broadway Market.
The couple divides their time between their London flat and a property in the English countryside which goes back to the 1500s. On the Table Manners podcast, Buckley explained their move to living in a centuries-old house.
“Our friends … bought this old place at a ridiculously low price at an auction, took out the weeds, and just did the whole thing. Then they showed us the house we live in, which is like 1500s, totally dilapidated and orange … It’s a beautiful old house that’s been there forever,” she mentioned.
This combination of city and country lifestyle manifests the couple’s craving for the thrills of the city and the quiet atmosphere of ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌nature.

When they’re not working, the duo love to cook together – though Buckley confesses her husband is the real master in the kitchen. “One of my all-time favorite dishes is anchovy pasta… Freddie makes it,” she revealed. “I can’t make it at all… It’s from a New York Times recipe, but it’s just capers, chillies, about a pint of oil, great parsley and garlic.”
The couple managed to organize a wedding in just seven weeks, getting married at their countryside home with a long history in 2023. The small party that was limited to 40 people was served by Towpath, a London café which they visited during their first days of love.
“One of my favorite memories from the day was… after a while I wanted a keg of Guinness and I definitely wanted their cheese toasties at a certain hour,” Buckley said during the Table Manners chat. The casual and intimate nature of the wedding was a perfect mirror of the couple’s down-to-earth attitude in their life ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌together.

The 2023 SAG strike unintentionally provided Jessie Buckley and her new husband Freddie an opportunity to travel and have multiple trips together after their wedding instead of only one honeymoon.
“We basically ended up joining friends’ holidays. Lots of friends were going away, and they just rented a place … it was really nice,” Buckley told. “Normally I’m shooting or something, but due to the strike, everything has been postponed, so I’ve had a whole year just to, like, hang out.”
In 2025 Buckley and Freddie welcomed their baby girl, starting their parenthood journey. The actress unveiled her pregnancy for the first time at CinemaCon in April 2025 when she sported an all-black outfit that highlighted her baby bump. Then, she officially announced the arrival of her daughter in October 2025 during an interview on The New York Times’ Modern Love podcast.
“It’s a lot, but I just adore it,” Buckley shared about motherhood. “I really can see her little personality start to emerge. I feel this life force in her and also the determination, and I want her to love life as much as I ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌do.”
