James Bourne Breaks Six-Month Silence to Share Update on Life-Extending “Major Surgery”

The Busted singer had to pull out from the Busted vs McFly tour last September just one day before the first show as his bandmates called him at that time a “really fucking sick.”

On Saturday, the artist broke the silence on social media by giving a positive report to his supporters via Instagram Story. “I’ve got a plan to undergo major surgery which should give me a longer life and perhaps a well enough state to come back to what I love most touring and making music, ” he stated. Not only James confessed that being “out of the game” is tough, but he also encouraged his fans by saying, “There is hope!” Although the update is serious, he has not mentioned what his illness is yet.

Busted’s band members have sent their love and support to James Bourne after he had to pull out of the tour due to his illness.

Matt Willis, during Busted’s first show of their tour, explained bunch of reasons to the audience why James Bourne was absent. He said, “James Bourne is really fucking sick and we love him and we miss him. This is the first time ever that we are playing without him… However, we will do our best. Health is wealth.”
Before the tour started in Birmingham, James had emotionally broken down on Instagram explaining that he was going to withdraw. He said that although he was really looking forward to the shows, last eight days from the time he wrote the post it was obvious that he was not well enough to perform. He also mentioned that there is still information about his condition that he does not have, however, he along with his fellow band members and management were in complete agreement that he should take the step to look after himself and receive medical treatment.

Busted and McFly Join Forces for Competitive Tour Following James Bourne’s Health Break

Feeling motivated, James Bourne believes he will be able to get back to performing eventually: “At some point, I really want to be able to come back. Anyway, that’s still going to be a great show without me and I’ll really miss being there! Hope to see you all as soon as possible.”

Busted joined up with McFly in order to go out on a competitive joint tour from September to November. The groups cleverly branded the tour as a friendly competition to see “who is a better band, ” and the fans were prompted to decide. Matt Willis commented that the tour was highly anticipated by the fans, pointing out that their fanbases were very similar. However, he added in a humorous manner that secretly “everyone likes Busted more.”

The members of McFly are Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd, and Dougie Poynter. Charlie Simpson from Busted explained that this time unlike the previous More supergroup McBusted, the two bands will be on the road performing their own set individually, and there will be no co-headline show. He also hinted that there would be quite a few moments at the concert that the audience have never seen before.

McFly can reveal that they have made 18 singles in a row in the UK top 20 charts, out of which 7 became number one, and in 2005 they won a Brit Award for Best British Pop Act. Busted, who are from Southend-on-Sea, have had 4 UK number one singles, won 2 Brit Awards, and have sold over 5 million records worldwide.
2013 was the year when the two bands, McFly and Busted, created a new band called McBusted consisting of six members. Unfortunately, the main singer and guitarist Charlie Simpson did not get involved in this band as he was dedicated to his rock band Fightstar and also he was doing his solo career.
