No, but how about a statement instead: that everyone is after a relationship similar to Anne Hathaway’s one with her husband, Adam Shulman.
And the truth is, even the one question and, let’s say, the opinion of The Devil Wears Prada star towards the jeweler and her soulmate are not a question either.
“I’m one of the luckiest people on earth,” Hathaway said to E! Online’s Justin Sylvester at the July 14 New York premiere of her film The Odyssey, in which she portrays the wife of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon).
“I met my soulmate, and we decided to get married and have a family, and I have that in common with my character.”

The Odyssey is one of Hathaway’s films set for release in 2026, following Mother Mary and The Devil Wears Prada 2, after which she’ll shift to October’s Verity, right around the time her third child is due.
Add in her husband’s work as a jewelry designer, producer, and father to their 10-year-old, Jonathan, and 6-year-old Jack, as Shulman prepares for the arrival of their third child, and it’s safe to say the pair hasn’t slowed down since their meet-cute.
How Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman Support Each Other
“The way he stepped up, I mean in every possible way, he’s the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met,” said Hathaway, who recently revealed her pregnant belly (yes, real one, gasps!) at the The End of Oak Street premiere.
“And I’m so lucky that he’s my partner that I spend my life with. And if I didn’t know that before this past year, I really know it now.
So if you have any questions about us being each other’s soulmates, please bore someone else with your questions.”
“It’s one thing to have dreams; it’s another thing to have somebody who helps you achieve them,” added the Oscar winner, “and I absolutely would not be able to have achieved what I’ve achieved without my husband.”

How Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman First Met
The love story of Anne Hathaway and Shulman began as a fairy tale in 2008, when the two of them had gotten together by chance at the Palm Springs Film Festival 2008.
Not that anything about it is surprising, seeing as how they’re practically the definition of a dream couple. However, fans might be in for a surprise to learn how the pair actually started dating.
In an interview on a David Letterman show in 2012, she said that someone had informed her that the guy had a girlfriend, so I thought I was being kind and giving him some space.
She told David Letterman later, “That I found out after approximately about six weeks that actually he didn’t have a girlfriend. So I suggested that he should come for the film premiere of my movie, Rachel Getting Married, with me.”
Her movie was supposed to appear at the film event, and she was having an extra ticket; but her friends in L. could hardly make it, so she thought Shulman would make a great buddy.
But her friend who played in Princess Diaries was not very happy at the idea of the relationship with Shulman. “They told me, ‘Well, what happens if it goes badly?’
I answered, ‘If it goes badly, then we will never see each other again. On the other hand, if it works well, I guess we will be married.'”

Anne and Adam Shulman’s Wedding
That was just how it happened. They got into matrimony, which was a very private affair at their California home, in the year 2012.
The couple also have matching tattoos for the same reason. According to Hathaway, this tattoo, which carries a deep meaning to them, depicts the belief that they are complete being individually, but when they are united, it is more powerful.
Actually, it is a really nice thing that we can understand. I don’t expect him to be the only one who completes me,” she told the Drew Barrymore show in 2023.
Besides, I doubt he looks at me as someone to depend on for completing him.
He’s his own person, I’m my own thing, we choose to be together because we believe we make each other better, and this union that we’ve embarked on is something we both want to participate in.”

Hathaway and Adam Shulman Welcome Their Children
Anne Hathaway and Shulman have been married three and a half years before deciding to start their family, and it wasn’t long before they welcomed their first child, son Jonathan, in March 2016.
Just like with everything else in her life, Anne Hathaway’s husband has nothing but praise for her as a mother.
“He always amazes me, as a mother,” said the 45-year-old to People in 2016. “She is gorgeous.”
Three years later, Hathaway and Shulman welcomed the addition of little brother Jack, and will soon be celebrating the arrival of their third child, with the latter due to arrive any day now.
Last month, she shared the great news on her Instagram account, saying that she was pregnant with the new couple’s child.
The 43-year-old told the late-night talk show host on July 14: “We were so surprised it happened this way.”So we’re calling it our buzzer beater!”
For now, however, Anne Hathaway and Shulman are simply enjoying their time as a family of four.
“They’re in this really fun zone where we all love hanging out together, which I understand may change,” laughed Hathaway, speaking to ELLE in May.
“Well, we will always love hanging out with them, but their feelings about us may change. So for the moment, we’re all just in it. Adam and I are soaking it up.
I’m having the most wonderful time with my family, living in the city of my dreams, and work seems to be going really, really well.

Anne Hathaway on Her Marriage to Adam Shulman
If anything, just as she says about her marriage, it seems that her family life is as perfect as can be.
“My whole thing about marriage is it’s such a big thing to share your life with someone,” said Anne Hathaway.
“You know, because it’s yours. It’s fully yours to do anything with. So to find someone who inspires you to say, you know, ‘As great as this is on my own, sharing it with you feels like it could lead to somewhere even better.’
I imagine that’s actually pretty rare, and I do feel like I found that, and I don’t take it for granted.”
