Harvey Weinstein Discloses Who Has Severed Ties with Him In Prison Interview
Once eminent film producer, now disgraced Harvey Weinstein, who is imprisoned following his 2022 conviction for rape and sexual assault, conducted a prison interview in which he named some celebrities, public figures and family members who have distanced themselves from him over time.
He mentioned Gwyneth Paltrow who, after she came forward against him, he recounted some of their moments together and explained that Brad Pitt had a part in the matter.
Harvey Weinstein claims Gwyneth Paltrow and others deserted him
During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey Weinstein stated that Gwyneth Paltrow who was his friend and at one time, closeness was owing to her career being indebted to him but she has now switched on him.
He added, “I had just come out from a good meeting with her and I asked, ‘Do you want a massage?’ And she was like, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ I understood the hint. I never laid my hands on her. She confronted Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt came to me and said, ‘Don’t do anything like that with my girl.’ I replied, ‘Don’t worry, Brad. I got it.’ However, Gwyneth goes on Howard Stern and The New York Times to make a very big deal about it. She definitely knows that it didn’t happen. But this person, a friend, who owes her career to me, just stabs me in the back. She wanted to be among the crowd. I can’t forgive her for that.”
Moreover, Weinstein confessed that most of the people he knew, including good friends, family members and those who owed their careers to him, have cut him off and “vanished overnight.”
Harvey Weinstein on the “Cancel Culture” and Family Issues
During a prison interview, Harvey Weinstein vented his anger over “cancel culture,” and likened it to the era of McCarthyism. Besides that, he revealed his reluctance in calling people because he fears that they might be “canceled” for being in contact with him.
“I want Jeffrey Katzenberg to answer my call. Ted Sarandos also. Bradley Cooper and I have lost touch. These people I miss not just for the business — there was more than that. But now I’m cancel-itis. Toxic. You take my phone call and you get canceled. I get it. I don’t expect anyone to destroy their careers for me. But some people risk it anyway. I won’t tell you who they are, obviously,” said Weinstein.
Additionally, he shared that two of his five children have not been in communication with him for six years. With his first wife, Eve Chilton, he has three children and to the second one, Georgina Chapman, two.
According to Weinstein, he calls three of his children daily, besides that, he talks with his lawyers and a few friends whom he calls his “lifeline.” His average phone talk time is 16 to 18 minutes every three hours.
Harvey Weinstein on His Ex-Wives and Children Who Won’t Speak to Him
During a prison interview, Harvey Weinstein mentioned that two of his daughters have not been in contact with him since the accusations against him were made. He claimed that he has reached out to them several times, but they have never replied.
“Their mother also cut me off. There has been complete silence from them ever since the accusations were made,”
He mentioned that he also does not have any communication with his second ex-wife, Georgina Chapman, who he married in 2007 and divorced in 2021.
“We don’t talk at all. She allows me to see our children, which I appreciate a lot. I am sorry she got such a bad rap. She was totally in the dark about what I was doing. I was very good at hiding things from her. Punishing her company is simply madness. All those women whom she dressed so beautifully turned their backs on her overnight. Have some courage, for God’s sake!”
