Josh Allen Breaks Down After Bills’ Playoff Elimination
Josh Allen is not hiding the fact that the loss was really hard for him.
Following the loss to Denver Broncos 33-30 in the NFL divisional round on Jan. 17, which ended the Buffalo Bills’ journey to the Super Bowl, the 29-year-old quarterback revealed how disappointed he felt.
“It’s really hard,” said Josh with tears in his eyes during the press conference right after the game. “I just feel like I let my teammates down tonight.”
Just last week, he and his team made history by achieving their first road playoff victory in more than three decades against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Jan. 11. However, Allen confided that he really wanted the playoff run to be successful.
Josh Allen Says Playoff Loss Will “Stick With Me” After Turnover-Filled Defeat
Josh Allen expressed that the Bills’ playoff defeat is something he will take personally for a long time.
“It’s been a season of ups and downs,” said 29-year-old in an additional video posted on X after the Buffalo 33–30 divisional-round loss to the Denver Broncos on Jan. 17. “I hate the way it ended. It’s going to stick with me for a long time.”
Besides, Allen highlighted the team’s mistakes which he thought were the difference of the game. “We can’t win a game with five turnovers,” he said and added, “Fumbled twice, threw two [interceptions]. If you keep making such kind of mistakes, football games are not for you.”
Not long before the loss, Allen commented on a photo of wife Hailee Steinfeld which showed her wearing Broncos gear at the 2016 Super Bowl. CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported that Allen chuckled and said he had “no idea it was floating around,” and joked that she was “probably paid” to go—he also stated that he “definitely wasn’t going to bring it up at home.”

The Oscar‑nominated actress has been a steadfast supporter of the Buffalo Bills quarterback since the beginning, as evidenced by her being seen at one of Allen’s games in 2023 for the first time. Hailee has gone on to highlight her love and pride for Josh in various interviews signifying her strong emotional support for his career.
The pair tied the knot in May 2025 and in December announced that they are going to have a baby. From the moment Josh signed his professional football contract, Hailee has been his rock through the good as well as the bad times—without any doubt, she is fully team Josh.
Hailee Steinfeld says she’s “so proud” of Josh Allen—and finds time to show up
Hailee Steinfeld has expressed her fandom of Josh Allen so much that she even talks about his work ethic and what he has achieved with the Bills. “At the very least, I am very proud of that guy,” she revealed to E! News back in January, further explaining that “he’s the most hardworking person I know.”
She doesn’t even just send her support through hashtags. The Edge of Seventeen star, in an interview with Variety in October, revealed that she tries to make her schedule so that she can physically attend an event: “I try to arrange my time so I can be where he is… Around this time of the year, I get to hunker down, slow down, support him and enjoy life.”
