George‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Clooney explains “Bill Clinton” prank on fellow actors

George Clooney is shedding light on a prank that he has been playing on a few big stars for quite a while.
The 64-year-old actor was on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce to promote his new movie Jay Kelly. During the episode, which was released on Wednesday, Dec. 3, Jason, 38, was inclined to know if the rumor was true that Clooney impersonated ex-President Bill Clinton and sent forged notes to actors.
“So, no — Jimmy Kimmel gave me a stack of stationery with a presidential seal and Bill Clinton’s name on it,” Clooney explained. “And I would send notes to all these actors from Bill Clinton, I’d sign it — and I’d find a movie that wasn’t a great film and I’d write, ‘I loved you in this film.’ ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌”

George‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Clooney jokingly admits to creating fake “Bill Clinton” notes and thinks they might be framed in the homes of stars

“I would personally write these notes, and I would mail them. I sent them to, like, 30 different actors. I bet you that some of these are definitely framed in some of their houses. I absolutely guarantee it,” George Clooney said on the New Heights podcast, which made Jason and Travis Kelce laugh.
Clooney also mentioned that he “does this kind of thing a lot” and remembered that once Jimmy Kimmel also pranked him with fake stationery that looked like it was from his Ocean’s Eleven co-star and friend Brad ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Pitt.

Brad‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Pitt–Meryl Streep accent-book prank by George Clooney

George Clooney revealed a legendary prank of one more time on the New Heights podcast which featured Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep.
He recalled a time when someone had mailed him a big book full of dialect CDs: “you could do an Irish accent or you could do a French accent… I don’t know why I had it.” With a fake Brad Pitt letter that Jimmy Kimmel had given him, Clooney wrote to Meryl Streep:
“Dear Meryl, from Brad — this guy helped me with my accent in the movie Troy, and I thought maybe you could use it.”
Clooney remembered, “I tell this story like four years later and when I see her, she goes, ‘Oh my God, I was wondering why the f— he’s sending me this book.’”
Chuckling, he added, “It’s so awful. We’ve done a lot of terrible things to each other. He’s done terrible things to me, man, so it all comes ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌out.”

George‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Clooney’s chronicle of Hollywood pranks

One of the most notable things about George Clooney in Hollywood is his incredible pranks. He once mentioned that he had sent a fake letter on Bill Clinton’s letterhead to “every actor I know,” which he again explained on the New Heights podcast and in his September 2024 Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance. Besides that, he also sent a fake letter “from” Brad Pitt to Tom Cruise “mailing” a sequel to Interview with the Vampire where they would switch characters.”
Matt Damon has also spoken of Clooney’s pranks. At the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors, Damon, while giving Clooney the honor, remembered a time when Clooney had “defecated in the litter box of our friend Richard Kind’s cat and made Kind believe it was from the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌cat.”
