Evangeline‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Lilly Reveals Brain Damage After Traumatic Concussion

According to Evangeline Lilly, her recent brain scans reveal the presence of long-lasting damage even months after she had a severe concussion as a result of her falling face-first into a boulder.
Lost, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star, 46, Evangeline Lilly made a “concussion update” video on Instagram on Jan. 2 in which she called it “bad news” as she gave her fans an update on the “healing process” that she first talked about in May after her traumatic brain injury.
“I’m entering into this new year, the Year of the Horse, with some bad news about my concussion,” she continued, then went on to say that lots of followers had been asking about the results of her brain scans. As per Lilly – who last year announced that she was quitting acting shortly after revealing her concussion – the scans showed that “almost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌capacity.”

Evangeline‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Lilly Confirms Brain Damage from Traumatic Brain Injury

Evangeline Lilly recently revealed in a health update, “So I do have brain damage that resulted from the TBI.” She also mentioned that there could be “some other factors at play” as well.
Looking into the future, the 46-year-old said her attention now is on acquiring knowledge and commencing therapy. “However, at present, it is my task to work this through with the medical professionals and then take on the challenge of repair, which I am not looking forward to since I feel like all I do is work hard,” she laughed.
On the other hand, she pointed out an unforeseen benefit: “My mental deterioration since I literally broke my face has, in a way, forced me to slow down and thus I was able to have a more peaceful ending to my 2025.”
Lilly concluded the recording with the words, “I feel really grateful, extraordinarily so, and blessed.” She wrote in her caption that it’s “a relief” to hear that her symptoms are not a result of perimenopause but rather the brain damage accounts for what she’s been going ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌through.
