Dwayne Johnson Critiques Social Media Algorithms for Promoting Outrage During ‘The Morning Shift’

A few days ago, Dwayne”The Rock” Johnson criticized social media and mentioned the major problem in there: algorithms that create situations where anger and loud noises are unavoidable.

In this talk with “The Morning Shift” he also highlighted the hosts’platform and the way they are promoting Polynesian culture. Johnson was especially pleased when he learned more about the show after meeting the crew in Australia.

“I loved hanging out with the gang down in Australia. After that I told my team: ‘Man, the time I had with the crew is going to be remembered for ages!’

And I got interested in the project from there. We saw how hard you have been at work, but more importantly, how big you have become and are always becoming bigger while you entertain and do your thing.”

Dwayne Johnson Calls Out Social Media Algorithms

He was talking about the Rock’s reaction to social media, which usually is to criticize those engaging in challenging or difficult topics, but this time he went a step further by showing how systems can bring the loudest and most angry conversations to the forefront.

“Brooke, you were right; the world goes fast and turns, it’s busy, but algorithms really make it loud, angry, and all that.

Still, you have a platform, and you can use it well to raise others, tell the truth, and be honest – it’s not always easy, but still you get people’s backs, man, and I’m totally behind it.”

The Rock Wants Social Media To Be Used For Good

Dwayne Johnson did not argue for hiding contentious issues but rather for using social media in a constructive way to bring people to the table instead of driving them apart.

He stated that certain subjects do require confrontation and it is okay that there are debates, but what is not okay is not contributing anything constructive through the media that you own.

The Rock, besides being moved by the hosts themselves, was impressed by how “The Morning Shift” used their platform to highlight aspects of culture and community life in order to make people more aware of issues while also making them proud of themselves.

He stressed that his support for the show was real as he expressed his desire to support the team and offered to appear any time the show needed him.

“Well, I want to help you win. I’ll be pulling for you and helping you however I can. Anytime you want me on your show, count me as a backup.

You make a very admirable way for our people through support; after all, that’s what we should be doing,” The Final Boss declared.

Dwayne Johnson Hints at a Future WrestleMania Return

In line with speaking about his upcoming WWE future, The Rock, through the former WWE Champion, made it clear to the audience that he was going to bring the hosts with him to WrestleMania when the time comes.

On his part, he just said that it would be a big show for him and that the audience could anticipate that the time is coming, but he did not give specific dates for that performance.

Also, he could not clarify whether he would have a match the moment he returns, as per his plan.
