As it turns out, Dua Lipa’s meet-cute with now-husband Callum Turner is something that had you levitating.
Well, actually, probably not their meet-cute, per se, since not much happened when the three-time Grammy winner and Eternity actor were paired together at chef Ruth Rogers’ Italian restaurant, The River Cafe, in their hometown of London.
How Dua Lipa and Callum Turner First Met
But the 6’2″ heartthrob definitely made quite an impression on the singer, as when the “Levitating” star was out to dinner with Mustafa the Poet before the birthday party of a mutual friend in Los Angeles the year after their first chance encounter, “and all of a sudden Callum shows up,” she laughed to British Vogue last summer. “I thought, ‘Oh, it’s that really hot guy from The River Cafe.'”
Meanwhile, for the 36-year-old Callum Turner, whose previous relationship was with The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby, it was the novel by Lipa’s side that had him ready to take her on a date that very same night.
“I had just finished the first chapter,” revealed Turner to The Sunday Times in October while reading Hernán Díaz’s Trust, “and I told her, and she looked at me and said, ‘I just finished the first chapter too.’ I said, ‘So we’re on the same page.”
Truly a moment for the books that could be straight out of a rom-com. “At the movie show version,” the actor said, “I just lift my gaze to the sky and say, I hear your message. I got it. The signs are loud – there’s no worry.'” At the same time, the couple really did live the happily-ever-after storyline.

After getting a bit of publicity for their romance through a L.A. premiere where she was seen for their WWII series Masters of the Air, and a 2.5-year-long dating rumour before getting engaged.

The couple chose to have their wedding very private and thus only their families were invited to the event, with neither the media nor the public appearing in the photographs of the ceremony as far as could be ascertained.

Callum Turner talked about her love with Dua that started when they were getting along and having the very first dinner with their partners on August 22 last year – both of them were 31.
Lipa, who had been dating model Anwar Hadid before going down the road with Jack Harlow and French filmmaker Romain Gavras, knew almost immediately upon meeting Turner that her training season was over.

He even stayed at least one night there in 2014 at La Bodega Negra, the restaurant which is located in London where she worked at that time, and shows that they attended the same pre-Covid party in 2020
“We really are quite good friends.” Ask Lipa if all of that points to some pretty significant fate, and she’ll tell you, “One thousand percent!” Especially considering the other half of her engagement story is Turner’s exceptionally considerate nature.

Their Love of Travel and Life Together
What the couple has been doing together has turned into a lovely home environment. It is always a joyful moment when they serve Lipa’s well-known roast dinners or just have fun with Golo, Turner’s rottweiler-labrador cross whom they adopted.
The sightseeing is also a big part of their relationship as they both love to try new restaurants and buy a vinyl record in every city they visit.
“We both have the same thing in our head that says, ‘Run, roam, see the world, explore and discover,” said Turner to Esquire after their honeymoon in Italy and South Africa. “We love doing it all together.”
As much as possible, in fact, since the two have agreed not to be apart for more than two weeks at a time, if at all, especially if Lipa is set to embark on her 81-show Radical Optimism Tour that wrapped up in December.
“This decision to grow old together,” noted the singer to Vogue UK, “to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever, it’s a really special feeling.”
This is the moment when Turner has admitted in an exclusive interview with Esquire that she’s really thinking about family life now.
36-year-old Turner said she’s “got no problem.” Lipa is definitely for this change of plans. She has admitted that this is a big decision but that she has accepted the reality of it.
According to her, the challenge is just finding a work-life balance and time off when she goes on tour as a musician. She added: “I believe in living in and letting it come naturally”.
For now, the couple will be dancing their nights away, of course.
