Benny The Butcher’s Surprise EP Release
Last week, Benny The Butcher unexpectedly dropped his latest EP called Buffalo Butch, Vol. 1. Griselda rapper’s project became a hot topic almost immediately after it was released because of its high profile features with Drake among others, Fabolous and 38 Spesh. Among them was “Buffalo freestyle” which got fans even more excited for the release. Disappointingly however, the joy lasted very short because soon after it was put up on streaming platforms, it went missing under mysterious circumstances. Spotify users realized Buffalo Butch, Vol. 1 had left their playlists on August 23rd and in no time this action was followed by other popular streaming websites. Therefore, many fans were left asking why?
With the EP now gone from circulation, supporters have been pondering what caused its sudden disappearance. Though exact reasons remain unknown to many people but there are several explanations as to why some users think that may lead to pulling down of the project as suggested by different posts on social media concerning speculation around what might have caused its removals from online music services . For now however, fans of Benny The Butcher are looking forward to hearing why, as well as if this highly anticipated EP will be republished. Even though the EP has disappeared from nearly all streaming platforms; two songs without Drake can still be found on Benny The Butcher’s YouTube channel. Nonetheless, “Buffalo Freestyle,” which featured Drake, is offline due to a copyright infringement brought about by Universal Music Group.
No Comment from Benny The Butcher
So far we haven’t heard any official comment from Benny the butcher regarding this incidence. This is not the first time he has experienced problems with releasing Buffalo Freestyle. In 2020 for instance, he stated that they recorded a collaboration with Drake while in 2021 he disclosed that they exchanged features for each other’s projects. Still, he was not hopeful the song would ever be released at all. While Benny felt let down by the delays, he did not blame Drake for what happened.
Reflecting on the situation surrounding the unreleased track with Drake, Benny The Butcher didn’t hide his frustration. “I was pissed, I’m not gon’ lie. It’s a f*cking Drake record,” stated Benny The Butcher who understood how big this record was as a result of his collaboration with Drake (the biggest artist in the world). “It was my biggest record… It’s a record just sitting in my pocket, but I understand the mechanics of the business.” However, despite being upset about it, Benny made it clear that he did not feel let down by Drizzy as he fully understands how complicated things could get within music industry. “I swear to God I didn’t take it like that because this is Drake; the biggest artist in the world.”
